So my kids liked it. In the same way they like olive garden. I got veal piccata. Veal was damn near inedible (chewy), salad was way overdressed (my fault for not asking for it on the side I suppose) and the crumbled gorgonzola was an extra $2? And it comes with a side of spaghetti... Why? Oh and I ordered a bottle of wine that never came.

Always a favorite when we eat here/ or get food from here. We had a party of 6 and just ordered it to pick up on the way back from boating. In our party there was a Lanza’s pizza, a Scicillion (sp?) pizza , a GF penne pasta, and the lumacelli (also sp?) their signature dish) all fantastic. The people with pizza 🍕 ordered the side salad for $5.50 extra and I would say, while it was good dressing and there was quite a bit of lettuce in the little container, it was literally just lettuce. So some tomato or carrot or garbanzo bean or something else in it for that price would have been my only suggestion. Also our boat trip ended early due to a crazy rainstorm and I was trying to call to see if we could pick up early but the line kept ringing busy for the entire time till it was time to pick up (2 hours), so not sure if they really were busy on the phone that whole time or there’s a phone issues or phone off the hook or something? They are busy for sure, we waited in line for 10 or so minutes just to say we were there to pick up an order. I just would have thought there would be some way to reach them by phone if/when our circumstances changed.

Very casual, authentic Italian food with big portions and reasonable prices. The minestrone soup is amazing. Meatballs and made in-house marinara are simple and filling. The bread is fresh and warm. They have a bar with seating with a couple televisions. They can get busy, so might want to check wait time before going. Not fancy at all...but the food is perfect for a cold night!

The chicken parmigiana is very good.
I usually order lasagna or chicken parm.
Neither will disappoint you.
The food is always great with huge servings.
However, this trip really bothered me. I hate that Lanza’s insists on giving one check per table. It’s ridiculous. Last night proved it to be very concerning.
So, because it’s one check per table. There were eight of us on one check. One gal put it on her charge. However, the bill was not itemized. We kept waiting for the server to return to ask him if the tip was included because we did not know with eight people and no itemized receipt. Finally, we asked for the manager to come to our table. We told her we didn’t get the itemized statement. She returned with the itemized statement and YES the tip was indeed added on. My friend was going to pay over $375.00 plus add the tip…..which meant the server
would have received an 18% tip (which was already added on) plus another 2O% tip! So, be ware to check your bills closely. Make sure you get the itemized bill too. It’s not fair customers to split a bill 8 ways when some people order drinks and more expensive meals.
My friend’s meal was around $22.00, my meal was around $28.00. The one bill per table is truly unacceptable to me! Then you have a server who appeared to be sneaky and tried to get a 38% tip! Not acceptable.
In closing this review, the food is very good, the side salads are great….just watch your bill! I’ve gone to Lanza’s for decades. One bill per table is not fair to customers. (Plus I’d rather charge my dinner). I had to pay my friend in cash for my “share”.

Terrible dinner, i have been here before and it was good, not so last weekend. The lasagne was a mush of cheese and meat sauce dumped on a plate, couldn't tell it was even lasagne. My friend's chicken milanese was tasteless, the server was unattentive. don't waste your time/money...also i wrote this review on their website and they deleted it.....hmmm

Service was fine and friendly, but the food is TERRIBLE! The Linguini was like a huge pile of cheap dried box pasta from Costco, the clam white sauce was junk, no elevation it was like someone went to Safeway and bought a bunch of bottles of canned/bottled claims. Almost zero fresh garlic, not a hit of white wine, just an oversized pile of crummy, dry pasta.
Pizza is a disaster - very "American" like a Topino Party Pizza from the frozen section except far to think. Nothing like a Neapolitan pizza which is the gold standard in Italy. The "Margherita" was a joke. This is not the Queen Margherita version it is the 7-11 version. Never EVER go here. If you want Pizza go to Jiffy.
For this price-point it is a total FAIL!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted in a very friendly manner. The serving staff were also super friendly and attentive, which made the visit very pleasant. We ordered the spaghetti & meatballs and the veal marsala. The salad that came with our dishes were fresh and the dressing is worthy of their bragging. We really enjoyed the salad. The bread they serve was hot and very good. Unfortunately, the veal marsala was a little tough. Normally, the veals should be very tender and juicy, but that wasn’t the case. Furthermore, the spaghetti seemed a bit undercooked, but the meatballs were really good. So the main dishes were a bit disappointing, but the friendliness of the staff would encourage us to give them a second chance if we’re in town again. We’ll try some other dishes next time. Would we recommend this place? Yes, we believe it’s worth a try.

This is the best Home style Italian comfort food. The chicken parm dinner is incredible and the best we’ve had anywhere. If you want a light meal then you’ll be so happy with the minestrone soup and Italian salad (house made dressing is delicious!) We love the friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! They make you feel like you’re part of the family. This is a family owned business and you can feel the love from all the generations, especially when devouring Mammas recipes. Yummmmm!!!

They take the phone off the hook every night for hours to prevent folks from placing take out orders. There's a line of desperate folks who line up at the door to place take out orders. Customer service is zero and they blame covid. They deserve to go out of business during Newsome led ignorance. Don't feel sorry for these guys. They're not even trying!

Our family with two toddlers came here our first night at Tahoe for our Christmas. The stuffed shells dish was THE BEST I have ever had. Mama’s homemade sauce was incredible. This is a bit if an authentic Italian restaurant with a Lake Tahoe lodge like vibe. We went back tonight for the homemade spumoni! They make this in house with the cherry layer having big cherries in it with granita. Mama would be proud!!!

My wife's family started coming here back when Mama Lanza was still running the place many years ago. My family continues to come whenever we visit North Shore. This place has a classic Italian Restaurant vibe, large portions and we have always had good service. The house salads are very good, we always buy a bottle or two of their dressing to take with us.

Highly recommended for family non-pretentious Italian food. Huge portions good old school italian. Pricing is very good unlike a lot of other places in the area. Eggplant Parmesan will feed you for 3 days. Garlic bread,Salads very good.

Enjoyed a dinner here with a family party of eight. The portions are plentiful and the eggplant parma was excellent. Clam sauce linguini was good, spaghetti with red sauce was solid. Dinner salads were a little flimsy and the bread wasn't great, but the bottle of wine we ordered with dinner paired well and we were largely happy. We will return!

We were staying nearby and met up with my nephew and his girlfriend here for dinner. The food was very good, nice large portions and we didn't have to wait very long either. It felt like having a home cooked meal at your Italian friend's house - not fancy, just really good food in a comfortable setting.

Lanza's is one restaurant we have been going to for decades when in North Lake Tahoe. We are so glad to see them open again. I enjoyed a Veal Piccata dish with fresh veggies on the side. It came with a salad with the chef's home made dressing. Can recommend and will go back
