1st I had the cup of butternut squash soup with crispy mushroom slices. Not crispy, more like rubber bands. Tried to eat one slice and drank water to get it down when I couldn't chew it. Fished them out of the soup. I liked the...soup although the mushrooms added a flavor that made it different from what I've had before, but not bad. I ordered the filet of rainbow trout (if picture hasn't change - to the left, that's it) except mine came with refrigerator-cold brocolini that was too tough to cut but the heads were fine. The "marble" potatoes turned out to be those small walnut-sized potatoes, possibly boiled, but very hard. The dill sauce was nice, not too strong, but the fish didn't need it. It was very good on the one potato I ate. The greeting and service were excellent as was the miniature pecan pie dessert. I can think of several less expensive restaurants where my meal would have been better. Thankfully, getting to see a friend I had been missing made up for it, but I won't be going back there.More

We went to Seasons 52 after ballet at Segerstrom. The parking and traffic at South Coast was pretty horrible but we made it and unfortunately we were seated in the back back room (otherwise, I would give it five stars). I had a reservation and...asked not to be put in the back but we were. Food was good and service was good.More

"Seasons 52" was introduced in 2003. The restaurant's core menu changes four times a year with each season. Through the years, I have only visited this Costa Mesa location. However, I understand that there are a total of 44 locations operating in 21 states. The...primary items ordered on this visit were: the Crab Cake appetizer ($16); Grilled Rainbow Trout ($23.00); Caramelized Sea Scallops ($30); and Chilean Sea Bass ($37). When ordered as a starter, there is only one crab cake per order--but it is large (almost the size of a hockey puck). A grilled half lemon and mustard sauce accompanies the patty. There is a seared crust on the outside of the crab cake. The interior is moist and a bit gooey. There is some mixed content in the binder--but it's mostly crab inside. It is a bit salty, but I believe this comes from the crab and is not due to excessive salting by the cook. If you like crab cakes, you'll like this interpretation. The rainbow trout plate includes a butterflied, boneless trout filet. Broccolini, marble potatoes (roasted baby potatoes) are served on the side. A dill-mustard sauce is provided. One of our family members frequently orders this item because the filet truly is bone-free (per our experience). The fish is wood grilled and has the smokiness that you want with this type of preparation. The Caramelized Sea Scallops are also wood fired grilled. It is served atop a bed of mascarpone risotto, with broccolini on the side. The scallops were done just right--not over or under cooked. Best of all, the scallops have the firm texture and fresh taste that you expect from a fresh scallop. I was most impressed with the Chilean Sea Bass. The filet is served atop a bed of wild rice pilaf with roasted mushrooms mixed in. Snow peas are scattered for flavor, texture and added color. There's also a drizzle of ginger-sesame glaze. I think this is one of the beast presentations of I've eaten. The filet is thick, so it allows them to achieve a slight caramelized crust outside; but the filet remains firm and moist inside. I would never suggest that the price per entrée is inexpensive. But when I consider the quality of the component parts that goes into each plate; the quality of service received by the front of house staff; and the ambiance of the dining room; I believe Seasons 52 delivers good meals, and a good value.More

Enjoyed lunch here with my wife and son. Wasn't busy for lunch but came back later for dinner and the line was out the door with a long wait so make a reservation. Service was really good.

We had a family dinner at Seasons 52. We got a table quite quickly and ordered drinks. One of the party asked for ginger ale or ginger beer. This took over 30 mins to arrive and clearly had a small can topped up 200% with...iced water - it was very disappointing. The food arrived a little late but was OK but not outstanding for the the prioce paid. A low ceiling and high noise levels made conversation very difficult. There did seem to be a problem with not enough staff to provide good service. We shall dine elsewhere on our next visit.More

I had not seen friends in 3 years so I flew in from Vegas for a casual event with the ladies. Justin was our server and he was charming, handsome, and professional. We started with a flight of summer wines. We moved on to soups...and then shared a variety of flatbreads. I had never been to Season 52 but will be back when I travel with my book signings. Season 52 was chosen as a central location because of the atmosphere and fabulous food.More

My wife and I had dinner at Seasons 52 Costa Mesa on 8/9/22. She ordered the entree salad with salmon, mango, jicama and greens. I ordered the trout with dill-mustard sauce. The salad arrived with no mango and jicama slivers so small they were nearly...invisible, the trout arrived with no dill-mustard sauce. Our server apparently arrived without a brain. This isn't a fine dining restaurant, but in the years we have dined at Seasons 52 the food has generally been fine and the service adequate. No more. And we will go to Seasons 52 no more.More

Back after ages... the patio seating has been increased, with heat lamps as needed for our cool California evenings. Flatbread was excellent as was the rainbow trout and scallops. Our server was kind and helpful and we had a wonderful evening.

Seasons 52 Management, I have limited my dining out as I am very careful of my diet. I only eat gluten-friendly items, and I eat a very clean, healthy diet. My family ate at your Costa Mesa location on May 28th, 2021. I now have...your Costa Mesa restaurant on my short list for restaurants I am willing to dine at! I appreciate your selection of gluten free, locally sourced menu selections. Thank you for a separate menu that makes it very clear what is gluten-friendly, lactose free, vegetarian options and vegan options. We also appreciated the very attentive staff waiting on us. They went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed; they answered all of our questions (if they did not know they went and found out the answer), they were very professional, attentive, and personable. I did not have to ask for anything twice, which is often the case at other restaurants. I want to give a well deserved shout out for superb service from Logan (our main server) and Grant who helped Logan. Also, I am a pickle aficionado; I go out of my way to purchase pickles that are fresh, crisp, not overly pickled, and tasty. The pickle that accompanies the Naked Cheddar Burger is outstanding! Thank you Seasons 52 for really good food, great service, and a thoughtful menu. We appreciate you and will be back! And, we are giving you good reviews online :)More

Extremely overpriced and disappointing!. I made reservations for 2 people on a Saturday at 4:30, showed up right at 4:30 and they asked us to wait outside, no big deal, we waited, waited and WAITED!, 20 minutes passed and I went to check what was...going on, the hostess was like "I was about to go get you", and I was like "I'm here, can we get sitted now?", She is like just a couple more seconds... Yes! Another 15 minutes passed and I walked in one more time to see if we were getting a table or not, then our server Justin finally took us through the whole empty restaurant!, There was nobody!!! What the heck!, We waited 35 minutes to get a table at a completely empty restaurant?, How ridiculous is that. If they didn't want our business they could have told us and we could have left right away, and not make us wait until we get sick and tired and leave. So frustrating!. We ended up staying because we knew by that time, 5:30, we wouldn't find anything else. Started with an outrageous bottle of sparkling wine that cost $10 but they charge $60. Whatever, ordered a couple appetizers and the risotto was cold, mushrooms were decent, not sure if worth what they charge but alright. My friend got the pork chop and it was dry and overcooked, I got the trout and it was a paper thin slice of the fish, definitely not worth the money we paid for, but we had no choice. After that, we ordered another bottle of wine, and they brought the check right away, they literally wanted us out of there immediately since they were finally getting busier, I paid and never got our water refilled again, nobody ever came back and check if we wanted something else. Seriously several people walked by us and nobody acknowledge us again. Take your money somewhere else for a better meal and better place, people here are clearly not regulars, some even wear their work out clothes all sweaty, gross. They shouldn't allow that, how disgusting is to sit next to people who stink and still pay a highly elevated dinner for such low quality food and wine.More

My wife and I decided to stop in for lunch today to catch up with a good friend and the staff who we consider our family. Rachael doubled as our waitress and bartender. Her professional and friendly demeanor always makes a good experience the best!...While waiting for our friend to join us, Rachael got our beverage orders going. After catching up some with our friend, we ordered an off the menu starter of gluten-free crisps and avocado-lime crema. Absolutely delicious! For our main courses, my wife ordered their lunch Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos while I opted for the Steak Salad and our friend the Maui Tuna Crunch Salad. My wife truly enjoyed her tacos! My salad was superb with the steak cooked a perfect rare! Our friend raved about his tuna and salad. Believe I will have to try that next time. We were very happy to see that all COVID-19 protocols were being followed. We truly appreciated the entire Season’s 52 staff and their efforts making each and every experience wonderful! Thank you Rachael, Rhonda, and Martin! Looking forward to our next visit!More

Stopped in for a Friday afternoon lunch with my wife. Always a terrific experience! We opened with a glass of Vanderpump Rose and a Rye Manhattan. Casey was our server/bartender. after a bit of decompression we ordered an off the menu item, Seared Ahi. We...truly appreciate the flexibility Chef Amanda and the rest of the staff have while meeting off the menu requests! For our entrée my wife opted again for something off the menu. A special macaroni and cheese with Korean short rib skewers chopped up on top while I went for the grilled artichoke and lemon hummus. The dishes were absolutely fantastic! The Korean short ribs actually beefed up the macaroni and cheese to a full meal scale with excellent flavor combinations! For dessert we opted for standard mini Indulgences which are always just the right size and delicious! Topping my meal off with an old fashion rounded out our lunch. Again our hat is off to Casey, Chef Amanda, and Matt for an exceptionally lovely lunch! Thank you!More
