Steak and kidney pies. Nice pastry. A few pieces of steak in a grey stodge. Forgot the kidneys altogether

Went for breakfast today but was very disappointed. Menu really limited and the only choice for a decent breakfast was The PotBelly at R85,for that you get 2 fried eggs,3 rashers of bacon,a few pieces of mushroom, cold slab of tomatoe with a smear of pesto...and 2 slices of ciabatta toast. Our waitress was not friendly and made no effort to actually give us service. She dropped our plates on the table and disappeared. Our food was cold on arrival, our soft fried eggs,snotty....really not appealing. When paying we made mention of the poor service to which we were pointed to a sign on the till(inside the restaurant) stating you must order inside. No sign outside stating this. We wont rush back here, poor service and a general air of dont care was very offputting. The outside area is great ,but the limited menu with 2 dishes offering boiled eggs.....is just strange. Perhaps a revamp of the menu is in order and a bit of staff training in hospitality would help.More

Such a nice place to visit. They had the nicest pies, wow, this is the closest to homemade you will get! So glad we stopped by. It was a cool day so I had a delicious coffee - they sell beans there as well. Besides...the restaurant area, they have a deli with delicious cold meats and it seems they make some of them. Then there are cheeses, jams, homemade sweets and cookies and all kinds of homemade foods. This is more than a padstal.More

We stayed at nearby accommodation for the weekend, and whenever we drove past Potbelly, we just had to stop for a treat. The pies and baked goods were some of the best I have ever tasted. We stopped on our way home, to stock up...on meats, cheeses and jam. Value for money!More

Like the Deli. Food portions small, but priced well. Waiters unwelcoming. Lots of potential. Disappointing.

We used to treat ourselves to Potbelly's awesome pies every now and again. You could pick any flavour and it would always be exceptional. Taking you back to your grandmothers farm kitchen during the 1970's. So it was with tremendous sadness and disapointment when my...wife brought pies for dinner and after the second byte you realise this pie is at best comparable to the worst of the chain retail stores homebrand pies. Halfway through the pie you simply give up all hope. Its gelatine and flour mushy inside is just an invitation for a mother of a heartburn later tonight. I fear Potbelly has lost a most avid suporter today.More

Between Stellenbosch and Klapmuts you will find the Potbelly Coffee Shop and Bakery on the R44. We visited for breakfast which was tasty and the prices are reasonable. This quaint coffee shop has seating inside and outside, and I have heard of several events such...as kitchen teas and babyshowers being held here with great success. Breakfast took a bit long to prepare, but fortunately without us having to ask, one of the waitresses came out and apologized for the inconvenience, advising that they normally have 2 chefs but one was sick so things are taking longer than normal. They are also busy with renovations in front of the coffee shop as well as next to it, so if you want to sit outside I recommend you wait for them to finish up before you visit.More
