Pleasant location and great service

Friendly welcome and soon seated with menus. This restaurant has often been busy and for no good reason, we’d missed it so far, mainly due to visiting old favourites. The Greek salad was really nice, including a herb we had never before seen or tasted, a nice change. Both ordered seafood / Shrimp linguine, which was overall too dry and with undercooked pasta, too much ‘al dente’. The Shrimps were very scarce compared to others we have had nearby but overall it was a nice ambience and with great service, very attentive.

Amazing food with an amazing host

Great culinary experience ! The fish is so fresh, we ate the carpaccio from the fish of the day and it was amazing. Claudio, the host, is so welcoming that you feel the experience is really unique. We felt lucky to have stopped by here at Alatsi. Totally recommended!

Excellent food, great service

IN one week we went in 3 times as the Cretan carbonara was delicious and the service outstanding. The host was friendly, inviting, gave advice (the lamb signature dish , very tasty) and is very service minded. You ga out with a smile.

Fine dining in Plakias

We had a wonderful dinner in Alatsi. First time we were here, but definitely not the last. Super friendly service and wondrful food. The Grilled Octopus was one of the best we ever had in Crete. The Grilled Squid and Swordfish were also very tasty. The dishes are served with fine quality veggies. Absolutely recommended!

Very average experience

I went in because of the good reviews and their swordfish special on the menu which turned out to be quite disappointing. Instead of one solid, juicy cut it came in three small, thin pieces that were grilled dry and also did not taste like fresh swordfish. Service was ok, but did not react to my feedback about the swordfish at all. There are for sure more recommendable eating places in the Plakias area.

Best restaurant in Plakias

The restaurant is placed in an excellent location. The food was very special and the taste of all the dishes was great. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Try the special salad with fruit! It was amazing! The service, by George -who gave us professional service -was so welcoming and friendly that we enjoyed very much from everything. We highly recommend!

Great restaurant!

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and the staff is very friendly. Their main priority is to make the customers happy. Food is really good with reasonable pricing for what you get. If you want to eat good sea food, this is your restaurant, but the menu offers also other options, Alatsi salad (oh! this great vinegrette...) is a must, Don't miss the "Feta Krousta", too! We did not skip the dessert and we asked for the sweet of the day. it was made by the chef and was really tasty. Last (but not least), plating was as the sweet worth it. Highly recommended place. Thank you Alatsi!

Food from the Gods

I think Zeus grandma must have worked here or at least she gave lessons to the cook, because the food is just divinely delicious! We had a vegetarian evening, so I cannot say much about the meat or the fish but the alatsi salad was the best salad ever: amazing combination of vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, right amount of cheese and perfect spices and dressing. This went well with the feta cheese in pond crust with jam (which brought tears of joy to my eyes, when I first tasted it) and the cheese pies. Portions are medium to large size so all of the above is enough for 2 persons. Even with a fully belly, we were curious about the dessert, which was an exquisite (coffee)-cheese cake.

Great food spoiled by waiter

The food in this restaurant merits 5 stars, but I can only give 3 because the experience completely spoiled by the overbearing, loudmouthed headwaiter Claudio. He never stops talking, he thinks he knows everything, but obviously doesn't and his skills as a waiter are dubious to say the least. Until they get rid of him we will be loathed to return. Shame, because the owners are trying hard and deserve better

Excellent fresh Cuisine

Have been there twice with my family and we enjoyed fresh fish and variations of starters. Really a pleasant and refreshing difference to the 20-pager menu restaurants. Sole fillet with wild greens was outstanding, Fresh local fish (you can have a look before you order) served grilled or fried was delicious. Wraped feta cheese with jam and red pepper also recommendable. Very friendly waiter with good wine recommendations. Will definitely go there again.

Go-to place!

Claudio (the owner) is passionated about his restaurant and is an person who understands what hospitality is about. You can dine very fine or a friendly price! Must be your go to place when you are in the neighborhood. I had as a starter grilled octopus wich was the obsolute best(!!) For a main course I went for the grilled sardines, also deliscious! Together with an white wine. And my friend had a seabream. We had a really good time. Will definitly come back to try out some more of his quisine! :-)

Stopped by for a late night snack after shopping I Palakias and was met by a very nice server helping us with the menu.

Stopped by for a late night snack and was greeted by friendly staff. The waiter guided us through the menu and the food was very good, we had different plates from the Mede menu. All tasted great. Kids finished the meal with Greek ice cream, also delicious.

Fantastic food and service

Alatsi is new to us in Plakias and we will be sure to go back again. Our host was very welcoming and professional. He made recommendations and I'm glad I listened to him. We shared the salad which was very tasty. Rocket, apple, cucumber, croutons, cheese and other stuff I can't remember! Very good. I had the pork in lemon sauce which was fabulous, pork fillet, a bit like pork chops but full of flavour with a lovely lemon sauce and good chips. My wife had the risotto with cuttlefish and black squid ink. She said it was one of the best she had ever had, given she is Italian I think that is high praise indeed. All in all, highly recommended.

This has been one of the most enjoyable meals we’ve had anywhere in Crete. The quality of the ingredients was noticeably good, and the cooking subtle and every dish was delicious. The setting was simple but stylish; the waiter was informed and charming. From our experience, Alatsi deserves its top ranking in Plakias.

Iorgos our waiter was so nice and gave excellent recommendations for us and our kids. We had the cretan salad, fried cheese with fig jam, calamary, grilled sea brim and more. everything was just perfect.
