A nice location to go for breakfast or tea with the ladies! The food is excellent and fresh and served in quaint crockery which adds to the ambience. Service is very friendly.

Quite relaxed. You want to listen to yourselves, enjoy various types of tea, your coffee, this is the place. Do not forget to buy a piece of your favourite piece of cake, of your choice from the menu.

Had a high tea birthday party and was very impressed with the venue and food. The eats was very good and staff service was not bad. Treats was very tasty. I'm not a fan of mixed cutlery but it worked for the venue. Well done...Guys. Will come back to try your menu.More

Look no further if you are looking for something British, menu is dated and needs a review. Wish I could say, I want to come back soon. Not for everyone, but can see some will enjoy the venue.

Went for breakfast with a dear friend. Sat outside under the trees in the garden - had a great time. Food was good, the vibe so peaceful and tranquil. A definite 'go to' place on your bucket list.

we enjoyed the occasion very much - we were set up in the garden and it was lovely ( however... the table was on a slight slant and so it made it difficult for the tea not to spill.. just for future reference ) also...I would up the vibe slightly with a little back ground music all in all very enjoyable and recommendedMore

What better thing to do on a public holiday but meet a friend for cake and coffee? The Silver Spoon is the perfect spot for exactly that. It was a rather dark and gloomy day in Johannesburg but the place was lovely. I suspect the...property was a manor house of sorts back in the day, now transformed into tea garden, coffee shop. Very Victorian (as advertised) with porcelain cups and all manner of quirky details. Excellent service and fantastic presentation of food. They lost a full star rating from me for not having cheesecake available on the day. Will go back for the High Tea some time, which on a sunny day in that setting I am sure will be brilliant.More

this lovely venue offers the perfect spot for a quick lunch; tea or even a baby shower. We were warmly greeted by a wonderful lady who showed us the available tables and served us for the rest of the afternoon. We selected a private room...in the centre of the venue which was grandly decorated with vintage paraphernalia from the yesteryear and had a lovely view of the front of the house. The owner of the restaurant also looked in on us and was always friendly and helpful. Their menu offers an extensive selection of light lunches and meals as well as baked goods and sweets. They also offer a wonderful set menus for high teas, with a lovely selection of finger foods. For our lunch we chose two types of pancakes as well as their rooibok pie. Both pancakes, one with mince and the other with chicken curry were lovely. The pancakes itself were fresh, crispy and light without being soggy due to the filling. Both were served with chips and the most delightful serving of tomato sauce in an egg cup. The rooibok pie crust was beautifully fresh and flaky – one could taste the effort that went into its creation. The meat filling was equally lovely and flavoured perfectly for venison. After our lovely meals we enjoyed their coffees and had to bid a sad farewell when we had to leave as we could easily have spent many a joyful hour with them. Highly recommended.More

The restaurant is set in a converted house with off the road parking This is a great place for High Tea as the name suggests. There are tables both inside and outside some under the trees. I would suggest booking for a High Tea.

If you are looking for an outdoor setting for breakfast or a light lunch in greater Johannesburg, look no further than the Silver Spoon. A relaxed atmosphere, food that reminds one of childhood spoils at your gran’s house and plenty of space make this little...restaurant a winner. If, like me, you also love eating out of the prettiest antique crockery and listening to unobtrusive classical music - you are in for a real spoil!More

A delightful surroundings awaits you from behind the walled car park. Beautifully set up as an olde Victorian-styled tearoom - the mismatched old fashioned crockery and cute table decorations. The menu offers a wide range of meals and cakes - the High Tea is a...must for a special occasion - deliciously divine. The service is attentive but relaxed. A totally indulgent experience :)!More

We went there for a high tea. Everything was setup beautifully and we loved the old fashioned tea cups. We were a little disappointed that they did not organise a proper table in the shade. It was impossible to sit in the scorching sun. We...had to wait for another table to leave before we really got comfortable. The high tea snacks and cakes were lovely and definitely not overpriced. I will highly recommend this place if they just make a plan to offer more tables in the shade.More
