Went to Woolies Café in Cresta for lunch. The drinks are amazing. The frozen Honey Nut Latte is a must, as is the lemonade. We had the free range burgers & chips with garlic mayo. Absolute perfection! But the delicious food does not make up...for the truly awful service. There is confusion at the entrance with the filling in of forms & sanitizing which defeats the object of COVID protocols because we ended up standing in a bunch of people while forms were filled in etc. We were only given one menu, I am not sure why plus our table had not been cleared and was dirty so we had to wait for it to be cleaned. Our waitress was not friendly at all. It seemed like it was all too much trouble to serve us our meals. Due to COVID, there are no condiments on the table so we received two tiny packets of salt for our chips. Upon asking for more salt, it seemed like it was a lot of effort to get it for us. We were asked to go and pay at the counter where we stood around for a while waiting for someone to notice us. Eventually our waitress came over and seemed shocked when she did not receive a tip. She spent some time looking at the bill and the exact amount I gave her in cash. She then turned away dismissively without so much as a goodbye etc. With the restaurant industry in dire straits, it is unbelievable that each and every customer does not receive the very best customer service. Even though the meal was great, I am not sure whether I would visit again due to the horrible service.More

This Woolworths Cafe at Cresta is a real treat. The food from the Harvest Table is delicious. Freshly prepared, flavourful and nutritious. The service is very friendly. There is a different menu every day and the food is always delicious. Love the Rasberry cheesecake and...Lemon Merangue pie. Highly recommended.More

I have had lunch at the woolworths cafe in Cresta shopping centre twice. Both times, the food has been fantastic. Today was my third visit and very unsatisfactory. There were numerous issues starting with a dirty and wobbly table. The waitress wiped the table with...a wet cloth but only succeeded in wiping the sticky goo in the centre of the table around the entire table. Before we could say anything she dashed off to get menus which she deposited into the sticky goo. When we mentioned the wobbly table she just smiled and asked about our drinks order. Sigh! The wait for the drinks was so long that I thought I would have to go and find her. Eventually the drinks arrived and we ordered 2 free range burgers, clearly stating the burgers must be well done. Over 40 minutes later the burgers arrived with only one of the sauces. Off she went to find the missing sauce which was brought to us in unappetising stainless steel bowls like something you would get in a hospital. Halfway through my burger I realised that the middle of the burger was literally raw. But no staff to be found, all dashing about with eyes down and super busy. No manager in sight scanning the customers to see if anyone needs assistance. So I ended up eating around the raw middle. Plus the garlic mayonnaise was just ordinary mayonnaise. Such a disappointing lunch. The problem for me is if you are going to charge premium prices then you need to listen to what customers' want and deliver. You can't charge customers R95 for a burger and then serve unsatisfactory gunk. So before I paid the bill I complained about the raw meat for which I received a curt 'sorry' and was then presented with my full bill. The hunt for a credit card machine took over 10 minutes. Suffice it to say that I did not leave a tip. Over and above my raw burger, I found the service to be horrendously slow, stand-offish to the point of being rude and the staff unable to deal with a complaint. Considering the lunch was over R300 for two, I felt it was unsatisfactory and don't think I would visit the Woolies cafe in Cresta again.More

I am a regular at Woolies Cafe at Cresta, Rosebank, Hyde Park, Melrose Arch and also in Cape Town. They recently upgraded the decor at Cresta and it is warm, cosy and very cosmopolitan. I am totally addicted to Woolies Cafe and love their daily...harvest table. The service is excellent and the food always of the highest standard. I've noticed an increase in customers since they upgraded and I don't always find my favourite seat. Well done Woolies!More

A good place to have a decent cuppachino, plenty of fresh water from a carafe together with an unadorned traditional fresh croissant (not microwaved). Lovely. Service was steady

I shop at Cresta Woolworths a lot and rarely do I get to walk past the cafe! Everything is excellent on the menu and I especially love their green juice. After traipsing through the shopping centre and usually with a trolley load of shopping, it's...a perfect place to stop for brunch, lunch or tea before heading home.More

Popped into Woolworths Cresta for a coffee and fruit scone(delicious by the way!) however, the service!!!!! Oh my goodness. The waitrons could not care less, ignore you until you catch their eye, the coffee I ordered, which was luke warm, was served 10 minutes before my scone....I ordered a grande so I could enjoy it with my scone but ended up drinking it in one go as it was nearly cold. The waitron never came near the table again until I asked for the bill, I would have liked another coffee. The bill was dropped in front of me and the waitron vanished. After a while I went to the pay point where i stood for ages until I asked if I could pay....next time I will just leave. I counted 16 waitrons and yet the service is appalling. Not great for your brand WoolworthsMore
