The view is absolutely stunning and the service (sven) was great, very attentive, friendly and funny! The seafood platter was very delicious. However, the pasta a bit disappointing as the prawns were overcooked and dry.

A great spot for lunch after a day trip to Kaap de Goede Hoop. We recommend Chapman's Peak on the way there but lunch in Black Marlin on the way back is a good option. Staff are a tiny bit 'pushy' when it comes to...upselling but all in all we had a decent meal here. The view from the outdoor terrace is beautiful and worth it all.More

Our host recommended Black Marlin as a seafood restaurant so we gave it a try. Johan, our waiter greeted us and gave us a nice table on one of the windows overlooking the "biergarten". We ordered oysters as an appetizer they were rather disappointing in...regards to freshness. We ate most of them and didn't get sick but we certainly wouldn't recommend them! As main dish my wife had catch of the day from grill - the poor fish was overcooked in a pan and not on grill! But at least the vegetable side was very tasty and perfectly cooked! I had the SA version of fish'n chips it was properly prepared with a fine better and the fish was still juicy. The French fries were tasty and hot but rather soggy and the Calamari as the second part of my combo were tasty but also soggy. My recommendation to the manager keep Johan and fire the chef!More

Lovely setting and prompt, attentive service. Unfortunately, that’s where the good points end. The food was abysmal. I mean, really bad. Wholeheartedly avoid

Wow. It has been many years since visiting the area. Post fire we were wondering what things were like. From parking in an ample parking lot, to the entrance of the patio we were greeted . We had perfect seats to chat eat and see...the spectacular view. I ordered the grilled fish cakes as I have shell fish allergies. John our waitron who was superb and extremely knowledgeable about the area and the food assured me I was safe to eat . They were delicious. Nice spicy bite served with a fresh salad. My husband enjoyed his kingklip saying ut was perfectly cooked. Wine list varied and plenty of local choices. Highly recommend this spotMore

It was bag full of lettuce and that’s it phoned the...restaurant asked to speak to the manager someone says he was the manager no apology for the bad food. All he said was OK OK OK obviously not interested in my complaint at allMore

The venue is absolutely lovely! The view is gorgeous, the house is majestic, outdoor seating is really nice. Our service was okay! The food was thoroughly disappointing. I had a prawn salad that was literally drowning in a kind of mayonnaise sauce. I also had...an eton mess which was so bad I sent it back. The pasta portions were so small that the guys all left quite hungry. I would not return.More

From arrival to departure - the setting, the view and the most friendliest, amazing staff, especially Colleen (Manager) , who frequently checked on my family and me, and ensured our every need was met, as it was loads shedding when we arrived, everything was amazing....Cant fault the food (thinking how the chefs had to struggle during loadshedding) and seeing the tour groups were keeping them busy. Will definitely return.More

We had the Neptune platter with Oysters for starters. Two bottles of wine (we took the unfinished bottles back to our hotel) in a fantastic location for £55 is excellent value for money. Fantastic staff as well.

We had the catch of the day and the king prawns. Both meals were very well prepared, and the ingredients of excellent quality. Our waiter, Sven, made us feel totally at home and helped us with ordering a few extras that just made the meal...extra special. The views all around are some of the best Cape Peninsula views. We looked right onto a slipway where fishing boats left the water, with hundreds of gulls following the boats. What an incredibly spectacular day!More

We had a wonderful lunch here, great service and such a beautiful place to sit. One of the best menus re choice for my veggie wife. It’s a must while in a visit to Cape point or Boulders.

This was a very disappointing experience. We paid an extreme amount for a pile of lettuce, cut veges and five pieces of beetroot. The menu was so over-promised. The presentation was tasteless and unsatisfying and the food was even more so. Will not be going...back, even for the view.More
