Had a bit of a feeling as soon as we sat down that this wasn’t quite what we’re had hoped for. Restaurant is in a nice setting but it had a very touristy feel about it which was summed up by a tatty menu. To...cut to the chase, my wife is still ill after four days, could have been an oyster. The calamari came with a very dry and inedible pile of rice, which was the same rice that came with our Kingclip for the main course which was over cooked and under seasoned. Very disappointing all round.More

Wonderful restaurant, we arrived at 11:50, they open at 12:00, we settled down to wait outside but the manager kindly ushered us in. Table on the terrace had an amazing view. We ordered the platter for two. It was enough food for three. Soles were...delicious, all of it was, actually. Tender calamari fried and grilled, lots of prawns and mussels. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall a wonderful experience. This restaurant is one of those places that make Cape Town a gem of tourist destinations. I recommend it highly.More

We ended up having lunch there and really enjoyed the service and hospitality. My prawns were a bit on the dryer side, with not much meat on them. That being said, service was outstanding, especially our server Funi, who took great care of us. The...managers Gerrie and Imarikie were also very accommodating and friendly. Overall, this place has a lot of tourists, and the food is pretty good. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is very chill! Great wine list and a ton of options to choose from!More

The management here ruins the whole experience, which is such a pity because the wait staff are excellent, even though they are badly treated. My husband and I (CT locals) decided to stop by on our way to view the penguins at Boulders Beach. We...were met at the door and told immediately that we had to share a table with another couple as “the tables here are rather large” which was ridiculous because we were then seated, very awkwardly and abruptly, with another couple at a four seater table. There were plenty of open tables around us and the restaurant was far from busy… and so this felt extremely unnecessary and made us and the other couple uncomfortable. Next, the waitress came to take our order and when we said that we wanted to have a few drinks she promptly ordered us to sit inside at the bar as the deck was reserved for guests who were eating. Again, there were many open tables and we felt this was absurd but obliged anyway and went inside and ordered our drinks at the bar where there was zero view of the ocean. (The whole reason we thought we would give the place a try) Funny thing is we were hungry about 5 minutes later and probably would have ordered food after our drinks, had the atmosphere been slightly more conducive to a good time, but that’s beside the point. While seated at the bar we then witnessed one of the managers, an exceptionally opinionated, arrogant and sarcastic man verbally abusing his staff repeatedly in front of guests. We were there a total of 15 minutes in the end, and we witnessed him attacking his staff 6 times for completely petty things. We were put off immediately, and ordered the bill as soon as our drinks came. The only saving grace was the waitress who couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive to us, as we sat and watched her boss lambasting his staff members. To add insult to injury when the bill came we had been charged R55 rand for each drink! The whole restaurant is geared towards turning tables over as quickly as possible to make as much money as possible, you feel like you’re on a conveyor belt from the second you step inside. management really doesn’t care for their staff or customers. There is an awful atmosphere because all of the wait staff are so stressed and constantly looking over their shoulders (even though they are excellent at their jobs from what we witnessed) there seems to be very poor communication and leadership and it shows. Hands down the worst experience we have ever had in the whole of Cape Town if it weren’t for the penguins and the view they would go out of business. we wouldn’t set foot inside this restaurant again if you paid us.More

Fish and fish cakes avg, calamari good. Salads and veg better than expected, more interesting and a tasty aubergine/tofu terrine. Lovely views, sat inside due to weather. One needs to book in advance as they cater for tour buses who took up the majority (seafront...area) of the restaurant on this particular Sunday. Felt rushed with our ordering and paying. Food arrived 10 minutes after ordering, and groups arrived shortly after which explains this. A good spot but next time will revert to peaceful restaurants catering more for locals.More

We used this restaurant to meet friends on our recent trip to South Africa, a party of 5, sitting outside with great views. When we arrived we were told that due to load shedding some of the menu would not be available until after 14.00,...with that in mind we had a few drinks and waited. The food was very good, the staff were excellent and an added bonus, penguins on the beach, what more could you ask for. This is a mid range restaurant, good value for money. Will we be back if visiting Simon's Town, YES. Worth paying a visit to the restaurant's own web site to see for yourself, the views you get from the deck.More

Nice covered open-air seating right on the water with the occasional penguin sighting. The menu covers everything from fish/seafood to burgers. The combo chicken and prawn dish was very flavorful but a tad greasy/oily. Seafood curry nice. Good value and good service.

A not-to-be-missed seafood restaurant in Capetown. Obviously very popular and once you visit you will know why. Unbeatable location overlooking the sea (and some penguins), Great food, excellent service, well worth it!

I travelled with a tour bus with my child a 15 year old. The fish and prawns were fresh and impeccable. Drinks very cold, but they didn't not have chips. Nonetheless the 40 minutes spent on eating was worth it. It's time for the bill,...I make my contribution for a tip, the waiterres demanded 10% and said I am with a group of more than 8, wish I had known and this information was not told to us in our tour bus, we were informed that lunch is at SeaForth and indicate you are from the red bus, that is all. The waitress even gave up the R20 I gave and said it's not 10%. I recommend the restaurant, just be prepared to pay 10% tip even of is 10 minutes you spentMore
