Stunning location with beautiful views!

Nothing evokes the feeling of being on holiday more than sitting on the deck of this restaurant, sipping something cold and looking out over the sparkling waters of the bay. We chose to have some chill time here, and it was a very pleasant experience. The menu provides enough choice for in-between meal nibbles and the friendly staff were on hand to take our orders, as and when we needed more refreshments.

fun and an awesome view

Perhaps not the best restaurant on the block, but the staff are friendly and attentive, the view of the beach is marvellous, easy parking .. and you can go there straight from a dip in the warm, gorgeous ocean on the beach!

We were staying in the Santos train and due to rainy weather we went next- door to this delightful train- themed eatery, also on the beach. Friendly and prompt service, combined with really good food, all one can ask for.

Restaurant on Beachfront

This restaurant is attached to the Santo Express Train Lodge and serves free breakfast to guests of the train, which consists of the basics: coffee, juice, cereals, yoghurt and muesli, muffins and toast. The other meals are excellent and the decks on which to eat have the most spectacular views of the beach and beyond. Highly recommended.

Terrible

My family and I had the displeasure of visiting the restaurant yesterday. My wife received her drink in a dirty glass. My steak was overdone and the BBQ basting was overly sweet. The garnish looked like it was left over from meals served yesterday and the food generally lacked flavour and presentation. Atmosphere nice enough and the server was pleasant and attentive but the food was dismal. I will not be back again.

Nice views but ugly pasta

After a day at lovely Santos beach we’re hungry and went to nearest restaurant. The place is connected to the railway backpackers hotel. We ordered pasta with shrimps and a beer. We hade to wait for the dishes and when we looked at the food I think it’s not mine it’s porridge 😱 it was not good even with tomato sauce.

Good location, flawed kitchen

Went here because of the location. Multiple staff just running around. Waited more than 1 hour for our food. Food was just drab. Their signature dish seafood potje was not tasty, low quality fish, with overcooked rice underneath.

Insolent Manager!

The food was absolutely terrible! The steak tasted old, the salad was just thrown together & the pizza was absolutely tasteless! When we asked for the manager to share our experience, he was absolitely rude and arrogant! He had no sense of customer service and did not care about what we had to say. I would not recommend this place to anyone, worst dining experience ever!

We waited and waited and waited…

Three of us arrived for lunch at Fork and Train. We sat down at a table and waited to be served. We waited, and waited, and waited. We tried to get the attention of the staff but nobody made eye contact. After half an hour we gave up and left. On the way out my friend approached a waitress and asked if they were providing service today. The actress simply said “yes”. She did not ask why we were leaving. I guess they must be doing so well that they don’t mind losing customers! We ended up having a lovely meal at a very close by restaurant. Needless to say we will not be returning and we won’t be recommending Fork and Train.

Music was so cute real old and quirky. This was a real treat but as we were working, we did not even notice how full the dinning had become and because it was cold out everyone was waiting to come inside. the food was good and service great and looking forward to our dinner for 48 party and karaoke next year.

Terrible food

Food is terrible, glasses are dirty. Manager is useless. Fish is tasteless and smelt off. Owner refused to accommodate the complaint.

Beautiful view and good food

I was surprised to see the ratings by clients all over the place. We visited and returned because of the good food, service and view. The locals frequent this restaurant and that is for good reason. We shall return!

Bad service and prices expensive for small servings

Visited them a three times since beginning of December and service is bad, waited quite a while just to provide menus and then to take order takes forever, then the prices, two blank slices bread, fried in eggs, French toast, R42, ridiculous!
