Our early evening dinner got off to a great start with an excellent table by the open door and when the restaurant wasn't busy very good service from our waiter. We actually got talking to the older couple next to us who were sadly in SA for a funeral. They like us enjoyed their starter and main course but appeared... More
We enjoyed a very good meal here with good service despite the fact the place was very busy. It is advisable to book in high season. There was a big mix of families and couples eating and the setting is quite noisy as it is a large dining room.
Blackboard display gave a Seafood Platter as a special. No indication on the board or by the waitron as to the price, obviously you are expected to ask. Three average size prawns, lots of hake, gurnard another cheap fish being the alternative. Calamari and mussel portions fine, as were the accompanying sauces. Price for individual platter, R290. Well prepared and... More
We normally do not enjoy restaurants at a hotel but from the moment we made our reservation until we left we were impressed. The service was good for a full restaurant .the staff friendly and the food great. The portion are big but well presented and tasty. The wine list covered a wide range and could enjoy a good wine... Had two meals at Cafe Gannett, Dinner and Breakfast . Dinner was fine and service very GOOD, the only complaint we both had was we had bones in our Hake Fillet! It was good but don't like fish bones. The breakfast was buffet style and help yourself with different options price wise. Typical buffet breakfast nothing too exciting.
We had a butternut soup as a starter with my wife having the duck and I had the cajun kingklip. The service was excellent with the waiter paying attention to all our needs. The food was presented with flair and the taste was amazing.
We called in for lunch. The day we went pizzas were on offer only 70 ZA for any pizza from the menu - worth asking! The seafood pizza was fab (normally 130 ZAR) piled with fish n seafood delicious. Very relaxing venue but don't go if you are in a rush. Pizzas took over 40 mins to arrive. Will return.
We visited here as part of our Garden Route tour and we're provided with a set menu, which I was very impressed with. I started with a Chef's Seasonal Salad that was fresh and tasty, followed by a 250g fillet steak and chips with a lovely butter and cheese sauce. The steak was a little overcooked, but was very tender... More

My husband and I would love to come and have dinner at your restaurant after we had a lovely meal last year when visiting from the UK.
Would you please have a nice table for two people available on Monday 1/2/2016?
I look forward to hearing from you.
