Big Blu Venue is a Beach and Surf Cafe Style Restaurant specializing in mouthwatering seafood and local cuisine Big Blu has reincarnated itself with a little help from Mother Nature. In a word - the view is simply "spectacular"! The ambience is casual and eclectic. Big Blu is a tapas restaurant offering some traditional tapas dishes to be sampled, plus a nice twist on other dishes. Big Blu boasts with congenial staff, weekend events, tasty tapas dishes and view not available anywhere else in the Garden Route - making Big Blu well worth a visit!

Big Blue is arguably the restaurant with the best views in the Mosselbay Waterfront (Point) area. From the deck area you have views of the iconic tidal pools (Die Poort Tidal Pool), the Mosselbay Zipline, the Cape St Blaize lighthouse and of course the magnificent Indian Ocean. The restaurant is very relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating areas, and is decorated in a laid-back beach style - they even have swings at the bar for you to relaxed on. It is important to note, that even if you sit inside, you will still have a great view as they have big windows facing the ocean. We visited for lunch and it was very nice, but the highlight for me was the cocktails which added to the "beach vibe". The staff was also friendly and they followed the Covid regulations that were in place at the time.

The big blue beach club has by far the most beautiful view of all the pubs in Mossel Bay. With a beautiful view of the ocean and people screaming while coming down the zip line the big blue is a must stop for a drink and bite.
With alot of activities around the big blue club from zip line and aquarium to hiking paths you will never be bored when your at the big blue.

Unasuming place, with the best views and food. We had the platter for two (blue) and it was done to perfection. Really worth the money spend. That is a must when in Mosselbay.

Wonderful seafood platter for 1 , hake , calamari, prawns chips & a large glass of wine too ! All for R165 just amazing value and top quality too. My hubby had delicious hake & chips for R120,
Highly recommend this place and an extra bonus is the amazing views of the crashing waves as it’s right next to the ocean and where the zipline finishes .
I must mention our lovely waitress Sheryl - leen who gave us wonderful service with a smile.

Big Blu is in such a wonderful location that it should be attracting visitors in masses. However, to do so it really needs to teach its staff customer service skills.
Despite it being very quiet (there were only two other customers present) it took an age for our order to be taken and even longer for it to be served.
When our food did arrive the Chicken Sliders we’d ordered had been forgotten. How could this happen when it was so quiet?
Ok, so the Calamari Strips and Fries were very nice but this did not make up for such slow and disinterested service.
To top it off, when we paid the bill the waiter had the cheek to say “what, no tip?”.
I’m always happy to give a decent tip when it’s deserved, but not when it’s simply expected despite the service being almost non-existent.
The management of Big Blu really need to get their act together. This bar/restaurant should be hugely successful but it won’t be if it doesn’t train the staff to give good service.

We came to Mossel Bay to celebrate my father who passed away 05 July 2021, he loved mossel Bay and he loved visiting the point. We have so many fond childhood memories spending hours there. Big Blu was one of our favorite places to go eat seafood and spend family time together. We arrived there 05 July 2022, only to feel like we were a inconvenience to the staff, they looked upset that we even arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted with mishrable faces. Eventually we were given a menu, after about 30minutes we asked for service..again it looked like a inconvenience to ask for a milkshake. They also advertised a Gatsby special on a Tuesday, which they adviterised the day before... Only to be told they can't make them they don't have the bread... Why advertise something you can't even make us? Nope won't recommend! We left and found a different gem on the beach with lively service and great food.

The food is really not worth paying for. We had the beef pregos. The steak was overdone. (Since when is a prego char grilled) No prego sauce. No proper prego roll. The menu is so limited and mostly all deep fried food. Whilst the inside looks nice the outside area still feels dirty. Terrible wine selection. View or no view. If this place hired a proper chef they would be the best place in Mossel Bay. Eva use of the location. Sadly another let down in Mossel Bay.

Best part of the meal? The beer and bottled water, ie, items they did not make. Hake (grilled and fried) was tasteless and powdery, probably microwaved from frozen. Prawns were tasteless, chicken strips average, burgers (sliders) OK, chips poor. What's gone wrong? We know it's not intended as gourmet, but this is an insult to pub food.

Big Blue is an absolute gem! The perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink while soaking in breathtaking ocean views and the soothing sound of the waves. Their food is just as incredible—delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. A must-visit for anyone in Mossel Bay! Highly recommended!

This restaurant is dirty, the municipality's health inspection section should do their job....!!! The service is none existing. We sat there for a solid 20 minutes, never received a menu and no waiter in sight. I went to the manager and asked for service and menus. After 5 minutes a waiter came running with menus and dissapeared. After another 20 minutes, still no service. We left...what a shame, the views at this restaurant is spectacular. There is a lack of interest in this restaurant. It is a sad a rundown
place. Don't waste your time.

How nice is that - and the food was excellent. We opted for a hake, calamari strips and prawns. Everything was cooked to perfection including the chips. We even got heated plates in the cold weather. Awsum service.

This restaurant on the rocks was a treat for my birthday lunch. We ‘built’ two tasty, abundant seafood platters. The portions were abundant! The beer battered hake was sublime; the calamari was tender and the rest excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We visited with our pets on leads. The dogs were fascinated by the dassies! Ideal for a superb seaside meal.

Waited very long for our drinks, no follow up if we wanted to order food or another drink. In end we had our drink we paid and left hungry to go to another restaurant with service. 1 waiter only. Bathroom was dirty someone had a nose bleed spots of blood on the way to bathroom and in basin.

Great location.great service. Value for money.friendly service.We arrived at 9 .warmly welcomed. Quick service. Took some pics. Its in full view of the lighthouse ,beach and zip line.i will definitely go again.
