This place is a gem! The coffee was perfectly brewed and full of flavor, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Polla at the deli pay point was a delight and very kind. Don’t miss the delicious spanakopita—it’s flaky, savory, and pairs perfectly with their coffee. Highly recommend!

Very nice place with the possibility of eating from breakfast until dinner. For us in the afternoon it was an excellent decaffeinated cappuccino as well as a fresh fruit juice. The chocolate cake was to die for. With fast and attentive service. At very reasonable prices. Very good address in this pretty town

Our Yard which, indeed, offers patrons both in “the yard” and indoors is a quaint restaurant with a sufficiently varied menu that can accommodate nearly every diet and tastes. We arrived in mid-afternoon on a weekend and found both the service and food to be very good. The waitstaff was attentive and kept in contact with the table from the moment we arrived, and the food was well prepared. Our meals arrived together, but it would seem that the fish-and-chips entree might have been prepared first because, although the breading was golden brown, it wasn’t crisp. The chips were not slappies, but came to the table a bit cold, also having lost their crispness. Otherwise, the lamb pot pie was delectable, as was the soup. All in all, the afternoon meal was pleasant and the atmosphere cordial and relaxing.

We went for breakfast as we didn't want to have it at our hotel, and wished that we had stayed at the hotel to eat! We really expected more from this place being No 1 Restaurant in town!
The Muesli with fruit and yoghurt was a few huge slices of fruit with a small bowl of yoghurt and a big bowl of granola. The omelette was tiny with very little filling.
We had to beg for service, (and milk for my tea) staff just didn't seem to care, and were very slack with no energy.

While passing through Graaff Reinet our guest house host (De Graaff Manor) made a dinner reservation for us at Maria’s. It was walking distance so we did not need to sit in the car to drive there after 9 hours on the road already. The pizza slices was sufficient for our ravenous 4, 6 and 8 year olds, and the burger and snitchel was also delicious. Most important, the beer was ice cold. The waiter was well trained and friendly. Contrary to other reviews, the food arrived quickly, and was well prepared. When passing through Graaff Reinet next time, we will definitely either go back for dinner, or if just passing through town, we will stop there for coffee - much better than the filling station rest stop.

I spent two months in the lovely town of Graff-Reinet last year and was disappointed that Our Yard was the only coffee shop left in town. The food is good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I was served caffeinated coffee when I asked for decaf which was unacceptable as I am very sensitive to caffeine for health reasons. For the first month I was there the juicer was broken for a WHOLE MONTH and every time I asked about it I was treated with irritation. It got so bad that I would arrive and greet one of the waiters and not be greeted back. I was treated like a difficult customer but did not deserve it all! Why there is no manager for such a busy establishment puzzles me. The only person I saw was a lady rep with red hair who kept to the room adjacent to the kitchen. No one except the waiters ever approached my table. The waiters need training badly. On one occasion I sat at a table and no none served me. When I finally ordered the homemade iced tea I was told there wasn't any. So I got up to leave and the waiter looked happy to see this. I felt very unwelcome. I expect a local place to feel welcome, it was just the opposite.

Excellent and friendly service! The food exceeded out expectations! The burger is made in-restaurant, the dill pickle is devine with a lovely red sweet chilli type sauce on the side. Flat bread portion is big with excellent quality cheese- feta, mozzarella and cheddar!

Our hotel (Queen Manor) recommended this place within walking distance. We loved the lamb so much we returned for dinner both evenings, and we breakfasted here after an early Desolation Valley trip. Wonderful creamy (thyme or pepper etc) sauces, very good choice of wine from their shop, 50r corkage. Heavenly lamb.

A gem of a place with delicious food and coffee. We loved the breakfast menu - the Eggs Benedict and Shashouska Eggs were outstanding. Some lovely art and a lovely gin bar are also worth the visit.

Cute little place on a picturesque street in Graaf-Reinet. Comfortable seating with a gorgeous tree in the courtyard. The Eggs Benedict on potato rosti was really tasty and the coffee from Maria’s was amazing. Staff was a little slow but order was right first time.

A very modern eatery with an outside courtyard, an inside dining area and a chilled ‘working space’ and bar through the back. An extensive menu and on site coffee roastery. Lots of rooms to browse through, things to look at and/or buy from tasty foodie treats, coffees and coffee accessories, wines, beers and spirits to colourful art. We were served by a friendly and attentive waitress and enjoyed our coffees and Eggs Benedict.

This is our favourite eatery in Graaff-Reinet. André and his team delivers excellent service and quality dishes time after time. We love the range of dishes, but especially the sirloin nachos, the eggs benedict, the burgers, the abundant Karoo platter and many more! The service is always prompt and professional. Excellent coffee too! Ideal for an excellent Karoo meal.

We started off with the rum tasting which was absolutely amazing. The smoke infused rum was so tasty. I also enjoyed the other tasting of rum that came on a board with 3 Different ways of drinking it. The dinner itself was delicious and the atmosphere was very homely and friendly. I absolutely LOVE this place.

André & Melissa and their team never fail to deliver excellent service and dishes time after time. We love the flavoursome Pulled Sirloin Nachos, but also LOVE the breakfasts, especially the Eggs Benedict – the delicious dishes are presented attractively on hot plates and the portions are generous. The service is flawless and friendly. Carl, the barista, makes the best coffee in the Karoo!
Ideal for an excellent Karoo meal.

A great stop for excellent coffee and some quirky shopping. Food all looked amazing and we bought a whole ton of take home stuff from Jams to sweets. Nice outdoor seating area in a good part of town for a wander around the streets and local shops.
