As the heading says great fish but the chips let them down. When I inquired I was told that it was to do with the sugar content in the potatoes? Dory's further down the road do not have a sugar problem!!!!!
We moved to Madrid 6 months ago and I’ve been craving fish and chips ever since. I saw this place and thought I’d try it with my husband and 3 year old, and my goodness it didn’t disappoint! Amazing food and service, and there were...3 spotless plates at the end, which sea for themselves! I highly recommend.More
It does what it says on the can, it is a fish and chip shop where you can also sit down and eat, or have a takeaway. There is a varied menu which also includes excellent desserts.
I can visit several times a year and...always the standard is better than I've had in other places from Marbella to Benidorm.
Cod and haddock are standard and it is authentic. They also have plaice, scampi, pies, chicken, sausages, burgers and so on and on. Good desserts too.
Batter is crispy and chips are as they should be.
I’ve never had a bad experience there. The staff know what they are doing and remain friendly, efficient and professional.
If you want a specific table, phone up and reserve it. It might be best if you reserve anyway at busy times.
Don’t expect to walk in and grab any table you want.
I like that they are open every day, check out the hours though on their website as over winter some days they don’t open late.
This review is unsolicited, they don’t know me from Adam, they get a lot of regulars they know by name, but I’m not one of them.
If you do feel something is not as you expected, talk to them then and there, they are willing and able to address your concerns. Give them the opportunity put right anything you think is less than their good standard.More
We are regulars at the Crispy Cod in Fuengirola. Always order the special (Small Cod, Chips, Mushy Peas, Bread) for €8.95 and it's the perfect size. Always cooked to perfection and it's one of the best fish and chips you can get anywhere, including at...home in UK! Looking forward to the next visit.More
as from the heading I decided to take a gamble more out of necessity than choice what a change since I was here before I can only assume that they have changed owners or the chef or upped their game. Whatever the reason it was...a plus foe us.More
Visited around 4pm on 21/10/21. Was quite busy but not full to capacity. There was one young girl serving who was trying to do everything, clean tables, lay tables, take orders, deliver food, drink and bills and take payments. Despite trying her best and being...obviously stressed, she needed help, but she remained pleasant, friendly, apologetic and constantly tried to acknowledge customers who were waiting, in my opinion, excellent in the circumstances. Owner or any other kind of help we never saw once but when I visited the toilet, she was happily situated behind the fryer away from all the stress. No soap in ladies (unforgivable in current situation with Covid in my opinion) when I pointed this out to the owner/fryer as I walked out I was just met with “ok no problem, I’ll sort it thank you” Too late - how many customers had already encountered the same problem and not said anything ? And no apology. All in all, the fish was ok, good quality if not particularly flavoursome, batter very good, chips weren’t the best I’ve ever had, home made tartare sauce not fantastic but passable, nice location on the seafront with outdoor tables and indoor seating, opens all year round, quite pricey, you pay extra for mushy peas and bread and butter. We had a drink each (a beer and a tonic), 1 large and 1 small fish and chips, both had mushy peas and bread and butter. Came to 33€ (£28 at current exchange rate) Came with high hopes as recommended and haven’t had proper fish and chips for 3 years but don’t think we will be in a hurry to return.More
