Gosh. We wanted to love this place. Straight from the Lonely Plant, a hole in the wall empanada shop, stuck in time with a stunning view over the Basilica San Francisco and with a charming ageing proprietor and delicious empanadas. Unfortunately, this is not the...More

Oh my goodness, the BEST Empanadas, Humitas and Tamales I have ever eaten. Not to be missed! We kept passing this place and only went on our second to last day. Shame! Would go there again more often.

This restaurant, across from the San Francisco Church, may not look like much from the outside, but the empanadas and choclo humitas are so good! And the owner, Porfidio, is a great guy!

The empanadas salteñas are in my opinion the best in all of Argentina, so Café La Tasita was exactly what I wanted. We were the only tourists in the restaurant, so don't expect any English menus or English-speaking waiters. The empanadas are very good and...More

A small local snack bar with the best value empanadas in Salta - we also tried another local speciality there - humita.

Although opposite the San Francisco church this tiny restaurant attracts mainly locals. They serve only a handful of items, primarily empanadas, humitas and tamales along with huge and icy bottles of Salta beer. Everything is cooked from scratch is really tasty and costs hardly anything.

The empanadas are delicious at this small bar right next to the San Francisco church. Have a refreshing Salta beer, the glass comes out of the freezer! Owner and place are old fashioned. Worth a visit. If you go around sunset you can watch the...More

Best empanadas in Salta no wait Argentina. Choice of carne, queso and queso y jamon. The home made sauce that comes with it is excellent and hot. Wash it down with an ice cold Salta beer. Very friendly owners. Down to earth place. But it...More
