Muratie have a quite unique environment and they are glad to keep their heritage evident. Red wine are as strong as the historical background the carry. Tip: if you don't like spiders net this can be the wrong place :-)

We visited Muratie for lunch and a wine tasting. The farm itself is rich in history - the tasting takes place in an old cellar complete with old artwork, photo frames and cobwebs that are decades old. The wines themselves are excellent, and we particularly enjoyed their MCC "Lady Alice". The lady who helped us was very engaging, in telling... More

We had visitors from Edinburgh and decided to revisit Muratie after quite a long time. We had not been there since the restaurant opened. The host was so welcoming to us even though we had our Labrador puppy and we were personally settled by Rijk Melck under the trees with water for the puppy. We only had the cheese platters... More

My wife and visited the restaurant with my daughter and her husband for lunch and were treated to a real farm style experience. The location is stunning and the restaurant is real Cape Dutch at its best.

Spent a Friday morning wine tasting and Muratie was a highlight. Love their connection to family history and the heritage of their land. They're situated in one of my favorite areas with some of the best landscape on the R44. They're secluded and unpretentiously lovely. Uneven old floors and 70 year old cobwebs which are respected as much as the... More

This is a great place if you want to feel how it must have been 50 years ago. The wine tasting is good and the people very knowledgable. The wine is good and the port is to be recommended. Even it is one of many, i would put it to the top of my list.

We went to Muratie to do a wine tasting and the farm is just so different to every other wine farm we have been to, it's filled with rich family history and beautiful antiques!

What a place, wines are very different, and you can even taste there spring water, Wow. The wine room has a character of its own. Peaceful and quiet place to relax and enjoy the wines.

By far the most beautiful wine farm experience I've had. Not over commercialized and owner is hands on.

The outside setting among the shady trees was amazing. Service was exceptionally friendly and efficient. Menu selection was just perfect offering something for everyone including salads, fish, steak, burger and vegetarian quiche. We had quiche, pork belly and a beef burger with fries. All 3 meals excellent. The wine from this estate is also superb. We had a tasting before... More
