We were 18 people for a birthday lunch.... We had the privacy of the new deck and felt very special.. All of the staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the kitchen team were amazing to deliver 18 hot and appetising...meals at the same time.......the Souffle was first class. Will definitely return.More

Complements to chef pure excellence his food was amazing he was helpful. Our waitress was amazing even the 2 waiters who helped her with setting the table and welcoming us from the entrance great experience but the only annoying and sad part was how we were...treated by Vania first of all I made a reservation and then I called to inform the restaurant that I’m running late that was expected 16 December is a busy day in SA so we got held up she told me that their kitchen closes at 4 then reopen at 6 so I was like if they are reopening then let us just go to the restaurant I’m sure when we get there it will be almost 6 when we get there. When I get there she tells me that they can’t help me because she told me they will be accommodating 80 people but that was new to me because she didn’t tell me that over the phone now she’s lying in my face n I was like okay let us just go to another restaurant because I hate bad vibes but she got me when she told me in my face that it’s not her fault.who says that to a customer there are rude customers out there no matter what you just apologise and make a plan that’s when I decided not to go anywhere and she just said fine set a table for ten left me like that no apology nothing. Then the waiter was welcoming made a plan even the chef came to help. Then she never came to check on our table which I didn’t mind but she was busy checking other tables strange. Then there was a time when it became windy outside and the wind blew away our glasses she was standing next to us but when that happened she ran pass our table n helped the other table that was very far from her how convenient. Then we decided to go now it’s time to Uber for the other group my network was down then I asked for the WiFi password so that I can request she told the waitress she can’t give me then I asked if she could come to my table she took her time when she finally came she told me that she can’t give me the WiFi because it’s for the tills so if lot of people log in the tills will trip.So if they are not allowed to give anyone the WiFi log in how will the tills trip if I’m the only person logged in??other places they even request for you if they have a problem with WiFi but she wasn’t going to help at all.One last thing explain to Vania that you are running a business not a political racial party thank youMore

Beautiful location, delicious food and very nice presentation. We visit this place for a number of years. The menu changed and the quality did even improve.

Mont Marie is beautifully situated. It did not start well, the cork particles were floating in my glass of wine. The fishcake was a crumbed and pan fried dish, must be good. They did place it in a running sauce so that the crumbed fishcake...became completely soft. The oysters were huge and inedible, we just left them. It was actually disappointing for a restaurant with a good name.More

We had lunch at Mont Marie this afternoon, on a beautiful sunny day in Stellenbosch. Given the setting you might think nothing could go wrong. The staff: Though the restaurant was far from full the service was so slow we repeatedly had to intercept a...waiter to get any service at all. When service finally arrived it was from a waiter who actually made side comments about us, like “pappa is impatient I see”. I can’t recall when last I’ve seen such unprofessional service. Glasses were taken away before they were empty, wine cooler was put next to kids and the waiter seemed annoyed, stating he is isn’t sure when asked about the menu. The food: the chicken liver starter was a jumble of mismatched ingredients. With the fried hake and chips, the hake is smothered in such a thick layer of half cooked batter that we were left picking out bits of fish from the middle. The chips were pre-cut and tasted like McDonald’s. The cheese on the pizza tasted off and the base was excessively sprinkled with something like semolina which gave it a unpleasant texture. The rice from the poke bowl was soggy, although the rest of the ingredients were fine. Coffee was good. In all, a thoroughly disconcerting experience and certainly very different from the other reviews.More

Amazing setting, every dish was invested with the chefs attention to detail and maverick creativity. My daughter loved being shown around the kitchen. Kids dishes very generous and extremely well priced. Cant wait to go back!

We ordered Moussaka which was R180, 00. It was runny like porridge and was inedible. The aubergine was hard in between this runny mixture. No taste of meat. Such a pity for such a beautiful restaurant and excellent service.

The play area is literally right next to the side of the restaurant as well as the outside seating. You could watch the kids if you are sitting outside on the same side as the area.
