We stayed on the premises so we had breakfast and lunch with wine tasting. Food and service was very good. The one Kunjani Shiraz was excellent.

I don't normally do reviews but in this instance it is so well deserved. We stayed here for 6 nights and although The Cabernet Villa wasn't available for the full 6 nights, Pia the manager, in my opinion went the extra mile to accommodate us...by putting us up the Stolen Chicken Villa for the last night. Even after some difficulties in making payment (issues at my end) Pia and Ellen were a delight to deal with via email and WhatsApp. As we were going to arrive after the restaurant would be closed, Pia arranged for some food and wine, of course, to be in our Villa upon our arrival. Our Villa was spotless, clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything required from utensils, coffee, tea, pots and pans, wine glasses etc. there was even a gas stove / kettle to boil water in the event of shed loading which there was during 2 nights but didn't impact us. The views from the veranda over the vineyard and down the Devonvale valley were spectacular. The restaurant was as it appears in the pictures, very modern and amazing to see in real life. A strange thing to comment on but the toilets were immaculate, something we noticed throughout our visit to SA. We only had breakfast a couple of mornings and the food was fantastic. Eugene and his staff were so attentive but not in your face and nothing was ever an issue. We used the pool most afternoons which was well maintained, clean and just the right temperature for a cool down. Our Villa was cleaned every second day with fresh towels as needed. We were fortunate to be there for the Rugby World Cup Final and Pia and her husband Paul made sure we enjoyed the whole event...... If you don't have your own transport like we didn't, Pia put us in touch with Wonder from Womerus Travel who took us to where we wanted to go. Again this was all arranged before hand without any problems at all and at reasonable rate. Note- Uber is available but they don't always want to come this far out of Stellenbosch. I can not recommend Kunjani Wines enough and should we ever be lucky enough to return they will be top of the list of places to stay. Thanks again Pia, Paul, Eugene and the rest of your staff who made our stay so magical.More

Flies was a bit of an issue and looking forward to when there is full alternative energy to power the rooms during loadshedding.More
Hello Mario Many thanks for taking the time to review Kunjani. Oh dear the dreaded loadshedding. We have installed backup batteries for each villa, sadly if the hours of loadshedding are too long, the batteries do run down and also in Winter we have less...More
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kunjani. We stayed in the Cabernet villa. The room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The view is absolutely gorgeous. We felt safe and well looked after by the staff, who were wonderful. The owner was able to...put us in touch with a great guide who ended up taking us on wine tours over two days. All of the staff in the restaurant on site were also so great. The restaurant was fantastic - excellent food and wine and vibe. I would recommend coming here even just for a meal if you were not planning to stay. Would not hesitate to stay here again for a relaxing, romantic, peaceful stay. We only stayed for two nights, but found we were not impacted by the load shedding.More

My pork belly main course was delicious. I have been to this restaurant before a few years ago and it doesn’t disappoint. Staff are very friendly. And prices are reasonable. I would recommend booking a table in advance if going on a weekend as it...does get busy. We went in April. So weather was perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Stunning views from the open restaurant area.More
Many thanks for your kind review and of course the 5 star rating. We are thrilled that you had a good experience with us and that you enjoyed your meal. I do hope that we can welcome you back to Kunjani again soon. Take care...More
What was suppose to be a relaxing afternoon with my family turned into a disaster and tears at Kunjani Wines. All of us ordered the carpaccio as a starter. It arrived as an overcooked slice of thick meat that was still frozen. The manager apologised...and returned with what was also frozen meat I requested to sample before the dish was served. The manager agreed that it was not their usual standard. I then was served the bouillabaisse soup as a main course. It was extremely salty and I had the rest of the table taste the soup and they all agreed it was over salted. I spoke to the chef who said he did not taste it himself as he did not eat seafood. He offered to make me a new soup. They served me what I thought would be a new soup but when it arrived it was less salty but a thinner watered down soup. I could still get over the mistakes of the food but what I found shocking and appalling was the ambush and verbal abuse of the owner. He was sitting at a table and when I walked past to look for the manager seeing that, he the manager never came to my table again the owner and a friend stood up and started insulting me and verbally attacking me in front of all the patrons and staff telling me that I knew nothing of food and that he is a top chef as well as his friend that was sitting at his table and that they anyway just send me the same soup out, so how could it now suddenly be less salty. I found him aggressive and extremely rude and the fact that I was told they would make me a new soup (well watered down) and in fact it was according to this rude owner the same soup - very deceiving. I could not believe how rude this man was and his insults and verbal attack had me in tears. I travel a lot and have a sound reputation in my industry as to what I do and how often I dine out but in all my years of dining out I have never come across such unprofessional and shocking behaviour and that of the owner himself. I wil sadly NEVER recommend Kunjani to anyone because its not only the food thats the champion of the venue but the hospitality is just as important. I feel sorry for his staff because if this is how he treats his patrons I am saddened to think how he treats his staff. I shall also post this on my personal Facebook page with the images for my followers to be informed as well.More

Kunjani had been recommended to us as a new destination to try. Excellent food and service and always nice to have the owners keeping an eye on everything and checking on the diners enjoyment. The other nice twist is that the starters can come as...a main course size which suited me very well to have the bouillabaisse which was outstanding. Very nice to try the Kunjani wines which were really good. Highly recommended new destination with a very talented chef.More
Dear Neil Many thanks for your very kind review of our restaurant and foods. Our bouillabaisse is our signature dish and I am happy that this was your choice of dish. We look forward to welcoming you to Kunjani again soon. Take care Pia

We met friends for a breakfast birthday on a misty rainy Sunday. The staff Eddie and Grace were attentive and fun - we were a noisy group and they handled us with aplomb. Loved the art and decor - food was fabulous. Bathrooms were clean...and styling. Much better than the huge commercial wineries on the area. Well done.More

We enjoyed a wonderful week in the Stolen Chicken apartment at Kunjani. The apartment was beautifully laid out with two twin/double bedrooms en suite and very comfortable beds also lots of cupboard space. We had everything we needed and the views stretched over the vines...and beyond. Pia and her staff looked after us so well. Breakfast and lunch can be taken in the restaurant or a delicious platter brought to your rooms. There are wonderful walks around and Stellenbosch only a 10 minute drive. We had lunch in the restaurant and it was delicious and with far reaching views. We look forward to our return.More

The best way to ease in the weekend, is a wine tasting. Kunjani impresses, as you drivevthw winding road, and see the black and red building. Then you are wowed by the interior, and the view leaves you breathless. We were there on a sunny...day and sitting outside, with the water fountain, Jacaranda in bloom... it was perfect. Loved the cheese and charcuterie platter!More
