Felt like heaven - Exceptional food and lovely outdoor setting

Excellent lunch on a sunny winter afternoon, the outdoor seating was a lovely atmosphere. Food was exceptional - oysters, pork pot stickers, sushi (rainbow, tiger, rock shrimp maki, spicy salmon tartare). We enjoyed the Vendôme Chenin Blanc, supporting the local farm, it paired well with the food. The owner, Cameron, was there and went around greeting all the guests/chatting - this surely speaks to his passion and personality (loved the chat). Our waitress Gemma was also top notch! Highly recommend and we'll go back!

Delicious top quality eastern works food in a wonderful farm setting

Best sushi in the Boland. Love the setting in a heritage farm building. The manager and staff are always friendly, efficient and the food consistently fresh and delicious. Menu and quality similar to the famous willowby's and co at the V&A waterfront.

Sublime seafood!!!

If seafood is your thing Salmon and Brine is your destination! This was my first time and definitely keen for my next visit. Lovely setting, very good service/staff. I was particularly impressed that the head chef visited us a couple of times during our meal to check on us. The food was amazing but the Kabelijau fish was the best fish I have ever eaten. Fabulous experience from start to finish!!! Bravo ❤️

Disappointing

Was so excited and hoping it would become a regular haunt! Arrived to a beautiful Dutch homestead and delightful outside dining area - which bears no resemblance to the contemporary, white tablecloth ambiance on the website? The mussels were so heavily salted the sauce was inedible, the grilled sole was blackened and pan fried. Our server/waitron was uninterested and off hand - food served to one person with a considerable wait for the other diners food. It’s really a lovely rustic dining experience (minus the salt) but maybe rather reflect that on the website - we were expecting white table cloths and an elegant dining experience. So incredibly disappointing- not sure if the white table clothed billowing sheers experience is even at that venue - strange

Not as good as a their former place

Since they have moved to Vendome the food has become less quality. When we had dinner shortly after their move I had to wait for 2 hours for a salad snd my husbands prawns were dry and could hardly be peeled off. Today we had calamari: tasted like rubber. We hope they will improve to their former quality!

Tasty food but the wait was just too long

This was our first visit to this restaurant at it's new location on a beautiful farm in Paarl. The food was excellent, as it's always been at their previous location in the Drakenstein Mall. The quality of service was however average, although friendly, but we waited a very, very long time for our food (and we were not the only customers that experienced this). It was lunch time on a week day and the restaurant was not busy at all so it seemed strange. We were also disappointed to find out that the first two items we ordered from the menu were not available. Apparently, they ran out of pork, which seemed strange as they have quite a few items containing pork on their menu. We will probably return, as their food is very good and hopefully this has just been a once-off problem. I hope management can sort this out quickly.

Transition period - good food, slow service

We chose this as a completely new spot we'd never tried before. We're from the southern peninsula, so it was a long drive here. Sadly it was loadshedding which meant a generator going in the background. Not really their fault and a reminder of the tough conditions business owners have in South Africa. I'm not a seafood fan, but my better half loves sushi. She was in heaven. According to her it was way better than average (I mean sushi average). Service was very slow. Took almost an hour to get our first food - but the jalapeno poppers and the edumame beans were worth it. We ordered wine from the farm. The offering was only the Chardonnay and not the reds. Wine was good, though not really memorable however. We found out that this was their first day since moving from a different location, so hats off to them for even attempting food so soon after moving! I had the steak (ribeye). Bottom line: don't come to a fish place and order steak. You're going to be disappointed! I may come back in some months when they're more settled and can offer their full menu. We had to re-select after our first choices were not available. I remember watching a Gordon Ramsay show where he looked at restaurants that offer too many things. They couldn't do most offerings, even half well enough. The menu here is massive and perhaps that might be the case here.

New and fantastic

My husband tuck me for a Friday lunch there and I think this is my new best place for sushi and Asian food . The staff is very friendly and helpful and in the kitchen you have experience chefs you would expect in this kind of Restaurant. The ingredients are super fresh and the price is very reasonable . Try the creamy prawns and the reloaded sushi Heavenly! Dorothee

Seafood heaven

One of our favourite restaurants close to home - great variety of food on the menu and we generally keep returning to our favourites which are normally different forms of seafood from pasta (they make a delicious prawn pasta which can be enjoyed with a spicy or smoky tomato sauce) to soles and kabeljou (cob). We always appreciate the personal attention to special requests, like accommodating a family member who cannot eat anything vaguely spicy. One of the owners, Cameron & Sasha, are usually in circulation, and appear to have a great understanding of what their clients need.

Perfect Saturday Lunch

We decided to check out the new location at Vendome and this is just perfect! Well done to the team. The Japanese cold selection was beautifully presented, full of complex taste layers. Coupled with a Brut MCC , relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, we really enjoyed our visit. Looking forward to next time!

Great new restaurant in Paarl

Excellent meal, great menu with many choices of both Japanese / fusion and Western dishes. We chose a number of dishes from the Japanese section, both hot and cold - all, without exception were absolutely delicious ( salmon sashimi and salmon hand roll the best we have had in a long time, prawn gyoza and Eli tempura equally delicious). We will definitely be back!

"Catch of the day" maybe a year ago.

Ordered the catch of the Day (Kingklip) What a disappointment, catch of the day is supposed to be what it says and not old frozen Kingklip that's been in the freezer for who knows how long. The fish was not fresh and was overcooked. Lovely setting otherwise, not sure if I'll be back.

Worm welcome and enthusiastic staff introduced this new Asian style restaurant to us. Great ambience, comprehensive menu and wine list. Delicious food exceeded our every expectation! Grilled sword fish on coals was unprecedented!

Great Asian Food

The two young men who looked after us were very charming and keen to please. The food was very good and freshly prepared. It was late on a Monday evening so it was rather empty and soulless, ambience wise, but in the normal way, the restaurant is nicely kitted out and to be highly recommended.
