Faber, I am overdue a review for their fantastic menu and attention to detail. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by a glass of something to welcome you. To a beautiful and meticulous table. Our waiter Atkins was a gem last night....We peppered him with loads of questions such as which art piece was his favourite and he told us a beautiful story about his favourite piece that reminded him of home. We enjoyed talking to him about our own travels to where he lives and we appreciated his patience with a couple of guests at our table who were a little hard work and tipsy. And thus we felt very much at home with Atkins. Our guests had the 6 course menu and we had a 2 course. Everything was impeccable. And as were his wine recommendations. My photos arent great but I promise every bite was.More

We happened upon this restaurant while traveling past Paarl and looking for a out-of-town good lunch. Some of our food was as excellent as the setting! The association bucco starter and the lamb rack were delish. Such interesting side flavors and reasonable servings. The grilled...pork cheek starter was Meh. Boring.More

We had a lovely lunch at Faber Restaurant and were seated on the outside terrace which is obviously a lot nice than to be placed inside. We were served with a complimentary appetizer and juice which was a wonderful start of our meal. The Sirloin...was good however not the best quality I have had during our SA culinary experiences. The atmosphere and gardens are lovely and I would recommend this restaurant.More

I have previously rated this venue among the best in the winelands if not the best. Not so much anymore. I asked for a medium rare fillet and was served a medium fillet. The result just barely OK .So the shine has gone for me....I did not order anything further and I wont be back.More

Our son from Europe visited us and we were looking for a special restaurant to entertain him at. Faber looked like the perfect place, and we loved the sustainable "farm-to-fork" slogan! Overall, it was a great experience and the setting, food presentation and service were...top-notch, including the welcoming glass of MCC and bread plate to start off. The Avondale Shiraz was amazing and we really enjoyed our starters, the lamb rack and the dessert. However, we were a bit disappointed with the single choice of a vegetarian mains on the menu, and when my son and wife opted for the Cape Salmon instead, it was dry and bland, on top of some al dente vegetables. We definitely expected more for R300! We were also surprised that the waiter opened a second bottle of still water (at R47!) without checking with us first, and then tried his best to get it below the halfway mark by continuing to top up our glasses. It is a nice restaurant with excellent elements, but it has some work to do to match its aspirations and the prices of its food.More

Excellent dinner at Faber, with fresh and sustainable products. The atmosphere is serene and the lighting is soft. Nice view on the kitchen from the dinning room. Attentive service. Good food and compositions. My only disappointment was on the dessert, as I like for sophisticated...dessert than just a tart.More

Another incredible experience - from the ambiance, professional and friendly service to the wonderful food (a flavor feast), not to mention the excellent wines - this is a ‘world class’ experience not to be missed. Big thanks to Atkin, Blessing and the whole team, plus...to all the skillful chefs and kitchen staff (who you can both watch and interact with) for a thoroughly well spent day. On arrival we were met with an amazing sourdough ‘Braai brooitije’, pickled fish and pumpkin fritter balls (celebrating Heritage day!) - all so tasty (they very quickly made a vegetarian dish as well) Starters consisted of beef tortillas, trout and duck, and mains were ribeye steak, blesbok venison and lamb, plus a vegetarian dish for one of the members of our group - all tastes and flavors were a gastronomic delight - wow Attention to detail, flavors and plating is exceptional. All the wines are superb (3.9 - 4.3 Vivino star ratings) - we were also given a short tour through the cellar. Another memorable day - we will most definitely be back again. Thanks for making it such a special day.More

Undeniably, the best restaurant experience in the Cape Winelands. Food & Wine excellence. We eat here often and refer many of our Guests to Faber..........the only report is not short of absolute delight and endorsement. Food offering is consistent, enormously flavoursome, fresh and organic! Presentation...and service is at a level, which far exceeds most of those 'production-line' fine-dining restaurants, dotted around the Cape Winelands. We're all so tired of foams, purees and gimmicks. A five-star endorsement to Chef Dale, Kat and their outstanding Team, for authentic food that absolutely delights!More

What a SUPER experience at FABER! We were welcomed with some MCC and some awesome complimentary "welcoming snack". All waiters where very professional and had great knowledge of the food and wine on the menu. All and all a 5 Starr experience, could not fault...anything. The food was like something out of a MasterChef kitchen – next level taste and quality! Worth every penny! Can highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions and more. Super well done guys – we will definitely come back for more.More
