The town of Paarl has a big variety of restaurants and cafés that offer great breakfasts, and Knus Karoo Kombuis is no different. Conveniently located close to the N1 turn-off to Paarl, it is easily accessible and its beautiful setting against the slope of Paarl...mountain is just the cherry on-top. They have a large selection of items for breakfast with most including a "Roosterkoek" which is a traditional South African bread made on an open fire. I had the "Knus Ontbyt" which was very tasty and with it I had a pot of "Moerkoffie" which is coffee made in a traditional South African way. The pot of coffee was also enough for almost 3 cups which is great to share or to keep for yourself if you want to stay a while. Our waitress was also very friendly and all Covid-19 regulations were followed. Glad we decided to pop in.More

I was at the restaurant on Saturday and ordered a vegetable wrap. Which was filled to the brim with onion, the taste was unlleasant and bitter. The only fresh vegetable that was in the wrap was the zucchini. Further it was filled with tinned mushrooms...and frozen corn. Worst meal by far. Informed the waiter, who in turn informed the manager. No apology nothing from anyone! I won't recommend or return.More

Popped out for lunch on a wet, cold and windy day. Had to pre book as was quite full so almost back to normal for a Wednesday. We both had the lamb babootie pie with veg chips. Very tasting pie but I will ask for...a salad or veg instead of the chips in future. Just too much starch. Lovely place with a wood burner on. Very cosy. Pricing acceptable.More

This delightful location offers simplistic country-style faire, with flair. I only wish I had discovered it sooner. Have been recommending it to many friends since my visit and will definitely return.

Amazing food. We did not think we will get so much for for the price. The food was fresh, looked beautiful and tasted amazing. They offer rooster koek with almost every meal which is very unique. Great service, the food was quick to arrive at...our table. And amazing setting outside under the trees.More

We had a leisurely late breakfast here. It was lovely to sit outside in the shade of the large trees. Traditional roosterkoek accompanied our choices - a nice local touch. Service was a bit slow, despite the fact that they were not very busy. A...pleasant experience nonetheless. Recommended.More
