Off the beaten path and worth the trip! We wanted to try something a bit off the tourist trail so we tried Oudtshoorn for the ostrich farm. What a great decision this was and this restaurant definitely made it worthwhile. This restaurant was one of...the most recommended and now we know why. I had the ostrich filet and he had the Scallopino. Both were amazing and dessert called Amarula was to die for! The plates were artistically pleasing, the servings were beyond generous, and the taste was spectacular. Who would have thought! If everything else is so good, this restaurant would be on any top chef’s must visit list. Of course, the service was impeccable thanks to Mancia and the rest of the staff. This place is just a few miles off of the main highways so definitely pay it a visit. Five stars all the way!More

Jaco and Annami welcomed us in their home as family/friends not clients. Good cuisine at a very reasonable price. Thank you for memorable evening and treat. We cannot wait to go back to Oudtshoorn.

Thank you Annemie and team for taking such good care of me as I celebrated a birthday, albeit solo. I was welcomed like an old friend. I felt comfy from the moment I arrived, loved the decor and generally felt this spot was well loved...and taken care of. Ernest was my attentive waiter and really made the effort to keep the momentum up of spoiling me. I chose simply as I wanted to taste as much locally produced produce as possible. The Karusa mini-wine tasting selection as an option is a sterling idea!! And dinner was the platter. For R130 this is very well priced, good for 2 and perfect for one if you want to hang out and have a picky/tapas type meal. All local meats, preserves, olives. I loved it! Note...the chef is very happy to adapt it if you want to had/subtract items. Smoked ostrich carpaccio was sublime, loved the carbanossi and salami. Anchovy butter was a bit overpowering so the only thing I left of the platter. I was treated to an Amarulu Dom Pedro (such a South African thing) that was HUGE! Was also wonderful to chat to chef and “swop” cooking ideas. Definitely recommended as a spot to eat out at when in the area.More

Was so great meeting you & thanks for celebrating your birthday with us. The decor was a very easy decision between me & the missus - she got the front dining room - I got the courtyard (hence the double braai) & the bar was...More
