Another exceptional night of food and entertainment. We are only here for a short trip to SA ... so you could say we made the special trip from Ireland to Kilzers... and it was all worthwhile as usual. In a country where quality and service...can vary wildly from visit to visit Kilzers is a beacon of excellence on a worldwide scale. Great food without the stuffiness ofequivalent top notch restaurants If you’re near Knysna on a Wednesday you would be crazy to miss out. But do book in advance .. it’s extremely popular for obvious reasonsMore

Had the most memorable evening here with such great laughs and incredible food. Not really an open restaurant but if you get the chance to go grab it!

Jenny and Albyn create a really fun evening with excellent food and much humour. And you can take your own drinks: always a plus.

After being told about Kilzer's kitchen by family i thought i should try it out. We arrived at 5.30 and it was absolutely packed, we decided then to try the following Friday. This worked out fine as we arrived much earlier at 4.15 and got...a nice spot with a beautiful view over Knysna lagoon and the surrounding nature. We only managed to get one plate of the mussels with white wine sauce and this was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Sirloin steak with pepper sauce and this was also done to perfection and melted in your mouth Dessert was also a highlight and the cheesecake and creme brulee was a perfect end to a stunning evening. They only operate during the winter months and then also only on Friday evenings and don't take bookings. So arrive early and do try to order food, especially the mussels as soon as you sit down at the order counter otherwise you may lose out.More

Selection of mains and delectable desserts. Take your own such a bonus. Lovely marshmallows to toast on the outside fires. 👍

If you’re going to be in Knysna on a Wednesday, this is definitely a must do. It’s an extremely tasty 5 course meal cooked and served by a local family. You should plan to book in advance, but luckily we were able to call and...get in last minute. The food was delicious and everyone was very friendly and welcoming! I would definitely recommend this, but just remember to bring your appetite! It is Bring your own wine or beer and the cost per person ends up being around 28 usd per person depending on exchange rate ! Can’t recommend enough!More

Not only does Jenny Kilzer throw a great dinner party on her special Wednesday night five-course price-fixe (about $28 pp BYO wine) but she’s also known for telling jokes even as she asks her guests to gather around her gleaming kitchen to hear that night’s...menu. Ours started with a small glass of limoncello, followed by a fish cake, elegantly sauced; Mexican tortilla soup, a fish course, a lamb course with a potato galette and creamed spinach. Dinner ended with creme brûlée. Her crew put all this together despite the “load shedding” that South Africa is experiencing (rotating blackouts). So there was no electricity during much of our dinner. The kitchen cooked with gas and we ate by candlelight. Book early and persevere if Jenny doesn’t get back to you right awayMore

Superb food served by very friendly staff. Open kitchen where one can watch preparation of Wed. eve dinners. Host and hostess are charming as well as superb cooks. She tells great jokes. A real treat.
