My wife ordered the line fish which turned out to be kabeljou - a favourite. She raved about the beautifully prepared vegetables and the subtle sauce which accompanied them but the fish was not fresh and over-seasoned, being much too salty. I ordered the Dim...Sum (Pork & Prawn), not too bad but a bit bland. I also asked for 8 Rainbow Rolls (R114) which were filled with mock crab, some cucumber and decorated with thin strips of salmon and tuna. Not an avocado in sight! The rice was dry. I mentioned the lack of avocado to our friendly waiter who, on enquiry in the kitchen, told us their sushi chef doesn’t use avo in his Rainbow Roll! Rather a sparse “rainbow”, I fear! One beer and a glass of Chenin followed by a good Ginger Malva Pudding and a stodgy Rooibos Creme Brûlée delivered a bill of R600. Rather disappointing when compared to other similarly prices restaurants in the area.More

We had dinner on Friday 2 April 2021. The view over the new harbour and towards Hermanus is beautiful. We had fresh oysters with sparkling wine and salmon roses as starters and then both had the kabeljou for mains. The oysters were fresh, but a...little pricey compared to other Hermanus restaurants. The kabeljou was magnificent - fresh and deliciously done. I know kabeljou quite well and this was really tasty and fresh. I had traditional malva pudding for desert. having grown up with this desert, I am sometimes hesitant to have it in a restaurant as it can easily be disappointing and just sweet without real taste. Not this one. It was delicious. Service was crisp and very friendly. Definitely on the list to visit again.More

After eating there for years i was very disapointed with their menu and pricey servings. It seems that they want to be like a cuisine restaurant and i would not recommend a sitdown lunch or supper there if you want a value for money meal. Also wine...menu is ridiculous expensive giving that they so close to wine producing area fircexample cheapest white wine about R185.More

Lovely restaurant in the harbor in Harmanus with stunning views. We had oysters and champagne which were very fresh. Mains were line fish of the day - Kabeljou which was perfectly cooked. I had the Salmon which was not a big portion but nicely prepared....Could have been cooked slightly less but it was delicious. We had no desert.More

We ordered Kabeljoe the linefish of the day. it did not taste fresh. When we asked about it, we were told it had been in the fridge for 4 days. We were shocked to be charged in full. We were given a complimentary desert. We...will not return nor recommend this fish restaurant, despite it's wonderful views.More

We haven't been there for a while and I'm missing the classics like chowder or fish bobotie. But there is still plenty to choose from and our choices were well prepared and tasty. The setting and the service are still great.

After dining at harbour rock, my expectations of good service and good food have been raised. I am very pleasantly surprised with the sense of team work from the staff, was great to see how everyone worked together and helped each other throughout the night....The food was superb as expected from this very upmarket restuarant, never any disappointments when we come here. Our waiter was a lovely guy by the name of Chris, he was very attentive and well spoken. Not an empty glass in sight. The pork belly was incredibly delicious, best I've ever had. The flavour combination is just wow. Would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant as you would be missing out if you didn't try.More

Stopped in for two meals - lunch and early dinner. The lunch was great had sushi at a more than competitive pricing and our waiter (with the wolf tattoo) was hands on and attentive. Sadly the experience at dinner two days later was not comparable....Our table ordered prawns (off the specials board) - which were barely cooked and clung to the shell, lacked any taste with zero attention to presentation. In an effort to maximise flavour, I asked for a lemon butter sauce for the table - we got a butter sauce, (a wedge of lemon on the plate would have paid dividends to both flavour and presentation). We all added salt and pepper My party did not want to complain, however as the closest table to the reception / kitchen - management should have picked up our vibe - as when our response to the waitresses enquiry on the meal, was 'okay'. Her immediate stance suggested to me that she realised we were not happy, yet chose to leave it at that. That we didn't linger or have any dessert, should have been another signal. Would we go back; for lunch / sushi yes, for a la carte dinner no. If i was to grade on lunch alone I'd say excellent For dinner I'd go averageMore

Food was good except salad which was a rip off. Just lettuce and hardly any tomatoes. Poor choice and pricey. Professional service but bit hurried
