First things first. This was a wedding function so the review must be seen in that context. The tapas was good with an array of spring rolls, meatballs, fishcakes and more. Everything was fresh and delicious. The main meal was less impressive. Beef slices, chicken, smal potatoes,...pumpkin, rice and broccoli. The food was well cooked and the meat tender but the meal as a whole a bit....bland? For desert we had chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and a creme brûlée. The latter was really good with the brownie not far behind. Service was good and the drinks a little on the expensive side. To rate The Classroom as average might be a bit unfair as they had to put up with a menu chosen by the client. Would love to visit them on “normal” terms in future.More

We arrange for a light lunch after a funeral in Onrus. It was an excellent choice and exactly what we wanted. The service and food was wonderful. They provide a tasty curry dish, coffee, tea and scones in a classy setting. The staff and management...were friendly and very helpful from first arrangements up to the function itself. Thank you very much!More

Friends got married at The Class Room. What a simple and elegant venue. What really impressed me was the preparation of the food. Starters can sometimes be a let down at weddings, but not at The Class Room. I enjoyed what they laid out, and...the wedding menu was great too. If anything, the barman was a bit overwhelmed, but this is a venue that comes well recommended.More

As the name depicts - it is a cooking school who's students run The Class Room Restaurant. Went for a Sunday roast on a recommendation. As I am not a fan of buffets and Sunday roasts are usually are just that - I loved that...it was a served 3 course meal. Yes traditional Sunday roast - meat, potatoes and 3 veg. Beautifully presented with great service and great value for money. My only (slight) let down, was the venue - felt like a wedding function room (which it is) but for a restaurant a little dull without all the "function decor" or perhaps even a "country club" feel . Would have loved it if they had set up outside - they have a great area. Would I go back - most definitely.More

The Classroom offers a Sunday set menu which consists of a 3 course meal . it is excellent value for money and the food is superb. The staff and students who train under Chef Kevin are fantastic . I can highly recommend this restaurant. The...service and atmosphere is excellent. Chef Kevin's main objective is to train the students who study through him to be the best they can be. The Chef's Course is of a very high standard so hence The Classroom restaurant also lends itself to be an excellent venue for functions.More

The interior do justice to the name The Class Room it is so unique if you look at the detail of the photos , blackboards ,old school desks etc Perfect...for venues and functions although I have heard thet they do a special Sunday lunch . ....Veterans breakfast , Birthdays , Weddings and special functions .... The interior lends itself to being classic is romantic smart or casual The menu 's are well chosen and the food only the best served by "professionals" A great find for a special venue in HermanusMore

Excellent Sunday Roast Menu!!! With all the hustle and bustle of Hermanus Restaurants with their over priced menus and below average standards of food. Myself and my friends came across this elegant restaurant situated at the crossing of Sandbaai's Hemel and Aarde Village called the..."Classroom Restaurant" and rightfully so... You're welcomed at the door by trainee chef school students all dressed in their "Chef Whites" and escorted to your table... Your napkins are placed over your laps ( just like at a larnie restaurant...Lol)... You're given your Menus and your drink orders are taken. Your appetite is then enticed with what they call an amuse-bouche ( a little savoury bite to awaken your taste buds for what's to come). Freshly baked bread is then served with BUTTER and not margarine!!! as they often do in most Hermanus Restaurants I've been to... Your order is then taken, You have a choice between 2 Starters and 2 Main Courses and a Trio of Desserts are all included for only R150... That's 3 courses for ONLY R150!!! If you find yourself in the centre of Hermanus you'd pay R150 for only 1 course (rip off!)... The Food is prepared by the Chef School Students which the Restaurant runs as during the week... They're also open for large functions and conferences up to 120 people. The food was not only delicious but so beautifully presented as well... I would have paid at least R250... Myself and my friends had a great experience that we'd definitely be doing soon again... Do yourselves a favour and please try this jewel... Great advantage is that they're kiddy and disabled friendly. 10 out of 10!!!More
