We were lucky to have chosen this venue under new management, as past reviews seem very poor. We were warmly greeted and seated and service was speedy and efficient. My husband ordered steak, egg, chips and onion rings, well priced and cooked exactly to his liking. I chose the chicken and mushroom basket, again well priced and served piping hot. The portion sizes were ideal and the food was very tasty. A very nice touch was the Manager coming to the table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. We wish you all the best for your new venture. As suggested, a good option would be to have "specials" on certain days as price savvy customers are always on the lookout for good deals.

Decided on the spur of the moment to try something new. The service was very good and friendly although even though we kept answering in English the waitresses only spoke to us in Afrikaans. The Sirloin steak was good but we're on a diet and it came with a lot of basting sauce on. As it was our first time and didn't request any sauce, we didn't expect that. The menus were very sticky and need a good wipe. As it is a family restaurant, it was incredibly noisy so would not recommend this for older couples who want a nice quiet evening. Decor sort of in line with the Spurs.

Friday night visit Texas Grill

Sushi takeaways weren't ready at designated time, due to a Staff member not arriving. Lindy immediately came to the rescue, and turned a negative into a positive experience. I was in the Retailing business for 40 years, written 2 books, and I was very impressed in the way Lindy handled a difficult situation So, well done Lindy and Texas Grill, again, I'll always promote your business. 5 Star experience

Bad wings. Great cocktail special.

We got served overcooked wings which were very hard and it looked like the chef tried to drown it in sauce. Wings are also very small for the price(R80 for 12). It sounded like a fair price at first. Cocktails are great when on special.

Do Better!!

My partner and I visited this establishment in December and for some reason I can’t stop thinking about it. We drove 5hours to George and were so hungry so we stopped when we saw this restaurant. It started off fine but we waited AGES for our food and the restaurant was SO OVERCROWDED. My partner was watching the guy make our sushi with his mask down and speaking and laughing all over our food!! I don’t usually complain but we had just been put on alert for Covid. Anyway... so we spoke to the owner and she apologised. Then every time a staff member walked past our table, they’d put their mask on properly and then pull it back down as soon as they passed us. This applied to both waiters and both owners. Totally infuriating and by the time the food came I was so annoyed I didn’t even want to eat it!

I was pleasantly surprised to find two of the friendliest waitrons, who absolutely made our breakfast outing so much more enjoyable. We loved the breakfast special that was way bigger than we expected for the price. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended.

Quick brekkie

Popped in for a quick brekkie to get the day started. Usually very fussy about my breakfast, they gave me what I asked, easy as that. Could maybe shave the serving time with about 4-5minutes, but nothing major.

Texas Grill | Affordable Food - Lacks Quality

We ate at The Texas Grill about 3 months ago. The food was ok - we all had fish was not 'so fresh'. Furthermore, I would highly recommend that this establishment maintain and clean their restaurant better as it looks outdated and dirty if you take a closer look.

Best restaurant in George!

We come here once a week and thought we come and spread some love! The reasons why we return:Value for money (as the headline, everything is BIG in Texas), most friendly and helpful staff (they always make a plan if there is no space), social vibe (always meet nice people). There are specials every single day. If you are expecting fine dining, rather go to The Hussar Grill. So make a plan and try out this amazing place in George!

So waiting in the queue waiting for a table .. we where next to be sitted two other individuals won't mention skin color get sitted before me and my kids well waiting for how long that is not on ....Texas will never see me again

Excellent quality and quantity

What an awesome meal again at TG last night. It's up there as being one of my favourite restaurants now. Had sushi and the fish and calamari special - was delicious. Having been diagnosed as a Diabetic just recently, I opted for the salad instead of chips, and my wife and daughter had the veggies - - very generous portions and delicious! The pumpkin fritters we got with veggies were out of the world delicious.... I could eat those as dessert 🤣 Please extend our thanks to your staff. Service was fantastic too... Sorry... Was so busy stuffing my face, I forgot to take a pic 😅

Horrible food

What a waste of money! Worst burgers in George, dry and chewy chicken schnitzel and brownish and vrot salad garnish! But the lack of respect for the customer was what got to me. I asked for cheese sauce, waiter came back to confirm, I asked if it was sauce or just a piece of processed cheese on which she replied yes and I said that I did not want that. When my schnitzel arrived it was just turned upside down with the cheese bits of the removed plastic cheese still on the plate and on the schnitzel. I will never go back.
