The food was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection. The chef came and asked if everything is fine, and offered to cook a different plant based meal for me when I come and visit. I will highly recommend this place.

This establishment is one of the best we have ever visited from the front door to the time of leaving its a wow, we bring friends here to show them just how good we can be. We love the koffie, its perfect there is not an item on the menu which will dissapoint you. I absolute love the eggs Royal but their bacon and banana flapjacks are brilliant, treat yourself, treat your family and treat your friends, the waitrons and chef /owner are people you want to spend time with.

It is really great to see that the Bayleaf has reopened after the initial lockdown period. The food is as good as ever and is excellent value for money. We always enjoy chatting to Quinton and hearing about his travels and culinary 'war stories'. Best regards Chris and Alyson.

I booked a Kitchen tea at Bayleaf and thought it will be the best venue for the function as I have been there a few times and based on my past experiences ought it to be the best. This time... it was total chaos! Only 2 waiters for a Saturday morning and a Kitchen tea of 16 people, which was booked months in advance. We had no service, Myself had to ask for the drinks and kindly offered to attend to the drinks myself as my guests have been sitting for 30 min already with nothing to drink. The food took about an hour and a half, but was tasty at least. I could see the senior waiter getting irritated with myself and by that time no service from herself has been given. Being in the hospitality industry myself, I know the "spin" of a full house, but this was just poor management and unacceptable for the amount that we had to pay for services we did not receive a 100%. Not to mention the insane amount of the gratuity that has been added to the bill without prior communication, and to be honest, no waitering staff. What a let down Bayleaf!

Alyson and I visited the Bayleaf Cafe for lunch yesterday (22 February) as we are apt to do at least twice per week. Quinton and his team have introduced an innovative light meals menu which is an excellent addition to the already established lunchtime menu. The light meals menu is very well priced, has very good quality fare with an ample portion size. We both had the fish cakes with the Asian coleslaw salad. The fish cakes are probably the best I have tasted in George and the nutty coleslaw has a really great deep flavour. At a time when many people are on constrained budgets, this menu is very good value! Best, Chris and Alyson.

Definitely a hidden gem in George. It's a bit hidden, but that's what makes it so spectacular! I might actually go so far to say it was the best fish we've ever had, in the perfect setting, with personal service from the owner herself. Such a delightful experience all round. We sat outside in the garden, which was so lovely, it does not feel if you're in town at all. Feeding the chameleons was the highlight! We'll be back for the carrot cake and asian salad. Thank you for the amazing experience.

I really don’t appreciate waiting for nearly 50 minutes for a lunch order to arrive, especially when the food is average at best. The bobotie lacked flavour. The chicken in the open sandwich was dry and over cooked. This was our second visit and we were looking forward to a nice meal. We left very disappointed.

Delicious! This place was bustling for lunch - book your table! Menu is quite small but there is something for everyone, burgers and tramezzines for the less adventurous but a few unusual choices to keep things interesting too. Great service. Meals took a bit of time to come but we had a very comfortable table to sit and chat and service was super.

Alyson and I are frequent visitors to the Bayleaf (twice per week). The new team have done themselves proud with refreshed decor and a new, comfortable outside area. This in addition to a revised menu offering with a number of authentic Italian dishes as well as a unique pizza menu. The Bayleaf is probably the best value for money Eatery in George with quality, flavourfull dishes and a generous portion size. A must try! All the best, Chris and Alyson

Impeccable service from the moment we walked through the door. Attentive, friendly and well presented. Our waiter built a rapport with us straight away and upsold a really delicious rose wine Can't believe we've never been before, definitely our new favorite. Yummy food...thank you..

Bayleaf used to be my favourite place to eat in George, but no longer. The food was great (I ordered my favourite dish, the Eggs Benedict on Roesti, but there was no Roesti in stock???? (The waitress joked that they had also run out of eggs??????So I made do with the eggs served on a "bun" We asked about the Wine Tasting which was advertised on a board outside (it said enquire inside for more details) The waitress didn't know any details, and said she would send the manager to speak to us. No one came to us, and on the way out, we saw a guy standing by the door. We asked him if he was the manager (still wanting to get info on the wine tasting) he said he was the owners son, and not really the manager. So we left unimpressed!

We always make a point of visiting Bayleaf at least once whenever we visit George, and over the years it has never failed us. Brunch with my parents was again piping hot, immaculately presented, delicious and generously portioned, whilst the service was discreet and efficient. Despite the seasonal cold outside, the Cafe was cosy, immaculate as ever and my chai latte superb. See you next time!

My 50th birthday celebration at Bayleaf was everything I dreamt of and then some. From the first meeting and planning with Hugo weeks before until the last guest left, everything was perfect! They really catered and attended to every detail I requested: beautifully set tables, superb food (including gluten-free options for some guests), attentive waiters, great service and even a special birthday cake. Afterwards we received so many compliments about the lovely garden setting, excellent food & service. A special thanks to Hugo and Kerry for making this such a memorable evening.

My girlfriends and I often pop in for a late breakfast / early lunch. The food is always good - prepared with care and attention to detail. Excellent choice for a light meal or just a snack. Definitely worth a visit.

When ringing the bell a friendly face will be welcoming you. Summer I go for the beautful garden and winter close to the fire on the stoep! Stunning lunch and something nice to drink will get you ready for the weekend. Service is friendly and prompt. Water filled with lemon and ice are always replaced with fresh water. Food is delightful and lots of choices on the menu. If you love owls, they have them too (don't worry in the tree not on the menu. Don' t get me started on the breakfast menu....to die for. Thanks Quinton and staff.
