Booked for dinner and have to say the service was excellent,we were very impressed with the lovely young man called Passion,he was so friendly talked us through the menu and what was on the specials board ,plus he helped us choose the wines .Really makes a difference when the staff are attentive.We enjoyed our meals very much Nicely presented and cooked just as we’d asked . Thoroughly enjoyed the evening in a lovely relaxed setting

The restaurant is most attractive and the food is served with finesse. The first night we ordered seafood medley which was outstanding. It was followed by Taste of the Overberg which was beautufully tender braised lamb, lamb cutlet, leg of lamb, minted pea puree, carrots, ratatouille and black lamb jus. It was delicious. There is a very talented chef in the kitchen. The next night we ordered grilled kingklip on crushed new potatoes, tender stem brocolli, the stems having been peeled, salsa verde and slow roasted tomatoes. For desert we ordered tart tatin which was specially cooked for us.

We just spent 4 days at The Cellars-Hohenort, and loved all of our meals at The Conservatory. The evening dinners, breakfasts, and lunches were all incredibly delicious, so well-presented, outstanding attentive service, and reasonably priced for such high-quality experiences. And the ambiance in the dining area, overlooking the lush garden was so inviting. The ultimate dining experience.

A sadly disappointing experience but lovely setting. The service was so well below par. Waiter repeated our orders wrongly 3 separate times ( for only a group of 3)! As main course was arriving, we had to ask another waiter to remove the empty bread tray and side plates. Had to ask for cutlery to be replaced for the steak. Each time the cutlery was added, it was so poorly placed. Simple training needed.
Regarding the food, my wife who we highlighted as vegetarian when we booked and again when seated received the non veg starter.
Biggest issue: the dishes just kept being rushed out without a break (for all the tables) and portions were huge...we heard the table nearby give the manager similar feedback. The chocolate fondant was awesome though. Saw manager on the distance but never came to the tables until the end to ask for feedback and don’t know how to respond.
Overall, disappointing ad these are such easy items to remedy.

Five ladies came for breakfast on a Saturday morning and when we said we had not made a booking there was sigh and suggestion we could sit inside but with persuasion we were given a table partially outside. When we left there were many tables that had not been occupied. We were not welcome and my omelette was dry - in all fairness, when I mentioned this to the waiter, he offered to replace it but by then we had all almost finished our breakfast so I declined. We won't be back.

We had great expectations as we drove into the cobbled carpark,
No excuses for the amount of food served, Hank Marin would not have stood for the minuscule amount of food, a complete waste of time and money.
We left very starving even after telling the waitress; she said: you should have ordered bread for starter.
Very disappointed,
Nener come back....

Stayed 3 nights here and all the food was outstanding. Thanks to the wonderful chefs who provided first class dishes and a varied menu to provide choice during our stay. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Ceviche for starters and for the mains Springbok or Steak for meat lovers. We ended up with a table of 11 friends for a meal and everyone's food was excellent - empty plates all round!

What a great dinner experience we had. The view from our table was spectacular. We were lucky enough to be served by Kudzai. He was amazingly accommodating, friendly and so knowledgeable to what is on the restaurants menu. What one would expect from a great restaurant. He was super attentive to my picky eating requirements yet I felt that I could venture out and try flavours I would not on any given day. Excellent food, fantastic view and service from Kudzai that I wish I could bottle up and carry with me everywhere I eat!

What a beautiful location, the restaurant ambience overlooking the trees is unbeatable. Onsite parking is great and an easy flat walk to the Conservatory. Sadly the ramen as a mains was plated with luke warm broth, and the suggestion of reheating was simply unacceptable. It simply did not do justice to this fine establishment.

Stopped here for a light lunch and ended up having just main courses of catch of the day and fillet steak. Both dishes were excellent and exceptional value for the quality. Fillet steak fell apart like it had been braised which was surprisingly good. Highly recommended for lunch but suggest 12.30 rather than 1.30 as it got much busier and friends have said service gets stretched. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Don’t have any complaints about the food or service which were both excellent. Two things were disappointing for an establishment of this quality. The air conditioning just wasn’t working and we absolutely melted. One of our group is a wheelchair user and she was very uncomfortable. We were also told the restaurant was accessible. If you call coming in by a narrow passageway beside the kitchen accessible, then there is a long way to travel. Fortunately our friend’s chair is not electric and her husband was able to negotiate the tight corners. No way an electric chair would have fitted. I think you need to address these accessibility issues so that people with disabilities can feel welcome and included. Also a disabled parking space right at the entrance would be welcomed.

Excellent Sunday lunch with great service. From the minute you arrive you know that you are at a special place. Gardens are magnificent, perfectly manicured and worth walking around. Great lounge area for a pre drinks, Food and restaurant service matches the entire establishment and 5 star hotel. Well worth a visit any time you get the opportunity.

The trees that lie around the property give a beautiful backdrop to The Conservatory. Ambiance is comfortable with a well seasoned staff in wanting to make your dining experience special.
Had their grilled cod with roasted artichoke and garden pea risotto with a tasty vinaigrette. Service was friendly and efficient.

Sublime setting, well considered menu paired with excellent service. Our waiter, Pholoso, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made a lasting impression.
The Conservatory at the Cellars is a South African jewel, check it out for yourself.

Great location, beautiful option to sit outside on the terrace and really welcoming service. The lunch options on the menue were all fresh and tasty. We tried the chicken burger, a tuna bowl and the catch of the day dish. Nice wine options too. We really enjoyed our lunch time at this place and would recommend it.
