Went here for dinner on New Years Eve where they had a set tasting menu for the night. The food was very nice but compared to other restaurants of similar quality in Cape Town, it was a bit overpriced. The service was also a bit rushed and they were bringing out courses too quickly before we had a chance to finish our glass of wine from the previous course. However I would still recommend people give this place a try.

Food is really great, and always something different and special. The favourite meal at our table was the oysters, and most controversial the “Cherries”. The only flaw we could find was that everyone at our table got coffee served on the cold side. One guest sent it back, another memorably described it as: “I swim in pools hotter than this coffee”. We’ve stopped by a few times now, and and the portions recently are a little on the smaller side, but with the tasty bread course included no one left hungry. The wine list has some real quality gems - and considering the premium pricing of dinner, the wines are actually reasonably priced. We found buying a bottle of red (aged to perfection), much more satisfying than the wine pairing - but that’s because we generally prefer reds. It’s a great fine dining restaurant, and none of the criticisms mentioned would stop us from coming back again.

We booked on Sunday morning for Sunday lunch using a seamless booking system which confirmed our reservation in seconds. Our welcome was as warm as the log fire and we sat back and enjoyed exceptional food at prices that are justifiable in terms of quality, taste sensation and balance. We opted for the shorter of the two winter menus and each dish was a delight. Duncan's service was impeccable, combining attentiveness with consideration. The main course may seem to plate small offerings but the flavour combinations are superb and even my hungry husband was more than satisfied in every respect. Foxcroft lifted the clouds on a chilly Cape spring day and we left delighted that we had chosen to eat there and looking forward to our next visit.

We decided to start our meal with oysters. We where served the smallest oysters I ever seen, I did not know such small oysters existed. When in France I normally buy number 3 (medium size) These where extra small Been this small you just cannot taste them properly.A coriander flavoued jus also distracted my assement. I prefer my oyters "au naturel" We then had a 4 courses small menu, all pretty but at the end of the meal I did not know what I ate. All the courses used too much spices thus hiding natural flavors The lamb was very tender but the glazing was too sweet, tasted like jam. I could go on and on but I will end by saying that the portions are ultra small You most probably will leave hungry and disapointed Also no good value

We went to Foxcroft for the first time recently to celebrate my husband's birthday. We opted for their winter special but didn't find the portions big enough. We left a bit hungry. I also went to great lengths to inform the restaurant multiple times beforehand that one of the diners was coeliac. This was not communicated to the waiter and we had to explain this again to him. Clearly the managers don't communicate this to their staff. This is odd considering the fact that this is fine dining restaurant - you would expect better communication and service. Overall the food was okay, but I think there are much better options available in Cape Town. A tip - their wine list is not available to view beforehand. A bottle of wine starts at R390 (and that's a rosé!), but they do offer corkage at R80 a bottle between 4 people (if the bottle isn't on the menu).

The set dinner (with choices for each course) was superb. This is a restaurant where fine dining is taken very seriously, the emphasis being on the quality of the ingredients, presentation and service. The décor is very simple and the napkins were paper (but thick). Recommended for foodies; it is not a place for meat and two veg people with hearty appetites!

When staff already starts cleaning other tables and clearing all stuff, you don’t feel welcome anymore as a guest. We experienced that here already during our main dish, which was at approximately 21:45. After ordering, the first dishes came in a rapid tempo, with a max of 3 minutes between them. We had to ask to slow down. The food was nice, although it immediately decreases due to the experience. All and all it totally didn’t live up to expectations, we are quite hyped to go here.

Over a year since our last visit - service and food as good as ever. Of the starters, The Malay tuna tartare was definitely the outstanding dish with a perfect balance of spice and tartness. The second course winner was The West coast mussels with a chowder to die for. The creaminess of the chowder brought a perfect balance to the pickled squid. Definitely the dish of the day. The vegetarian mushroom main was a bit too sweet as a main and the Buffelshoek Blesbok which whilst very good lacked the punch we thought would come from the ginger. After three such great dishes, the three deserts were a a bad let down. The Cherries were watery and lacked flavor, the Karoo Blue was very rich and needed an accompaniment. The Green Apple was the best of the three but the flavors were all a bit insipid. We mentioned this to our waitress who said the chef was well aware of the desert shortcomings as other people had made similar comments.

Foxcroft services top end quality food with very experienced and well trained waiters. Serves 4 course meals in slightly smaller portions but should fill you up. This restaurant is not cheap at around R600 a head for food only but what a great experience. Took foreign guests and family here and had a great food experience “ at a price “ but worth it every now and again.

We chose foxcroft mostly for location as it’s a stunning warm sunny day in Cape Town. The patio area is reserved for people wanting only tea and drinks and not allowed for lunch. Bad start as it is the nicest area. There are 2 set menus to chose from R495 R695 Being work day we ddnt have any alcohol. We chose the 2 menus at R495. We therefore took the 2 first and second tapas and 2 mains to chose from so that we can sample the entire menu. Overall very small portions, miss-match mix of ingredients . Either too salty or sweet. Conclusion Expensive fare Would much prefer an à la carte to chose from than imposing rich creamy food at lunchtime week days. The food was served swiftly.

This was our 1st fine dining experience since lockdown, Sunday lunch at Foxcroft. This has always been one of my favourite restaurants and despite all the COVID-19 challenges it remains superb. On arrival and throughout the meal the staff paid meticulous detail to all the health regulations and I felt perfectly safe. The service from Delroy was impeccable and the food simply sublime (as usual faultless). The new menu is also very good value. In fact everything was so first-class that I forgot about that missing glass of wine. To all the Foxcroft regulars and those who have never been, please pay them a visit and support this wonderful restaurant so that it will still be there when the nightmare end.

Only 30 min drive from Cape Town (!) by Uber, we would definitely recommend this restaurant! We went for the 7-course menu including wine pairing. In the beginning they had an up tempo in serving the food, at the end it took them a little longer. But absolutely delicious food and wines, friendly staff, great atmosphere!! Must go!

I had such a stunning experience at Foxcroft this past Saturday. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly hostess that placed us by the fireplace (perfect for the winter’s day) and were treated to two glasses of bubbles, a beautiful touch which my mom loved! The food was phenomenal, every bite was delicious, nothing was left on the plate, not even a drop of sauce. A four course will leave you completely satisfied (I was satisfied even before dessert but couldn’t get it over my heart to skip). The lady who served us was very attentive, professional and friendly. Overall, 12/10! Can’t wait to go back!

I am a foodlover, just finished writing a Cook Book myself. But....last night I had a never-before Food experience at Foxcroft. The oysters were already astonishing daring but the main dish made me cry. I have never been touched by food this way. I cried like what you do at a beautiful painting, or a piece of music that moves you, a terrific sunset or an overwhelming landscape. That can bring me to tears. But a main dish? Yes, it happened. I really coudn't believe that somebody (chef Glenn) could design this combination of flavours, colors, tastes, textures, preparation and wine. I couldn't help myself so I went over and hugged the chef. Another thing I never did before in my life. I even hugged waitress Chelsea, who sort of understood my ecstatic behaviour. So everybody: go there. Treat yourself to a once in a lifetime foodexperience.

What a shame for a restaurant that apparently sits in the same portfolio as La Colombe, which although super pretentious does the job. Sadly today, for a lunch of 10, they totally dropped the ball with a largely uninteresting lunch menu. Their waitress didn’t explain a single course, so we had no idea what we were eating, the tuna was bathed in Malay curry which totally overpowered the fish, the turnip dish was dismal, tasted like peanut butter and was bitter and uninteresting. Their pork neck wasn’t slow cooked it was rushed and chewy. On the whole, a disappointing experience, I came with 10 people expecting to be wowed and it well below par, time to raise the game!
