Traveled to S. E. A many times and this place is a watered down western version of Vietnamese cuisine. The service was average. The food was average. Overall disappointing and overpriced.

Had a rushed meal of just some of the starters. Pho Ga (chicken soup) which they kindly changed for us as the on had Pho Bo( beef) on the menu. Tasted authentic perhaps just lacking Thai basil but the base soup and the rice noodles...More

This restaurant has been going strong for over 20 years. The food, service is always excellent. Incredible menu selection, lovely wine menu as well. We ordered a table full of starters all fresh and so tasty, we left feeling satisfied nut not bodged!

Another great find 2 blocks away from our hotel. Really nice wine selection, friendly staff and delish cuisine. A second visit is necessary to work our way around that menu.

Just a fabulous place to eat. Great vibe, exciting food, good cocktails and an interesting wine list....and a bargain in my opinion. As a Capetonian, embarrassing that I have never visited before. Will definitely be back again.

Had a family gathering at the restaurant. The food was very delicous and the service was good! One in our group waited a long time for their dishes but the manager gave us a free dessert - fried banana and ice-cream which was delicious. Highly...More

After having been told it is the best in town for oriental food, we booked and ate there. Waiter attentive and food was good but not the mindblowing experience I had imagined. Maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen, so will try again!

A lively and busy restaurant in the heart of Cape Town. We had delicious beef on hot plates which we recommend. And an excellent glass of Pinotage. Nice and warm welcome. It is wise to book in advance !

Had yesterday a lovely and enjoyable lunch at the Saigon. It was 10 of us with children and the variety of food offered was great. Some of us had mixed starters and the traditional Vietnamese Pho to share.

Sho, but this was a terrible dining experience! Excited to try Vietnamese cuisine, my fiance and I eagerly ordered the angry duck and the pepper caramelized kingklip. The food arrived with extremely small portions for the price, and balances of flavours completely out of whack...More

Hi, a small parking area is available adjacent to the restaurant . I found parking in a side street close to the restaurant.

Description
Saigon in Cape Town has become one of the hot spots. With magnificent views of Table Mountain and their soft, muted lights, Saigon has acquired the perfect ambience. The Vietnamese decor is done elegantly without giving the restaurant a themed feeling. The menu is mainly Vietnamese with Japanese influences. Starters to try includes the Grilled Chicken Skewer and do-it-yourself Lettuce Wraps accompanied with prawns, fresh herbs, noodles and sweet chilli sauce. Some of the more popular Main Courses are the Chicken Cashew Nuts, their Spicy Beef Basil with chilli sauce and the Saigon Ginger Fish covered in a batter. All the Main Courses can be served with rice or noodles. Saigon's exotic Deep-Fried Ice Cream is a must if you have space after your lavish First and Main Courses. The ice cream is deep-fried with a batter casting and then served with their honey syrup. Holding its own between the many restaurants in Kloof Street, this is one of those restaurants were one should book in advance as it is always busy no matter what day of the week it is.
