Anatoli was one of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town but has a new owner and new menu now. We had the meze for starters and decided not to have mains as the food is not half as good as it used to be. The...service and ambiance is not the same. I miss Tayfun and the old Anatoli will no return.More
Without a booking we arrived to a very laid back and warm welcome and shown around the restaurant, finally settled on the mosaic table immediately on the right as you enter.
We were looked after by Patience who was very attentive and brought an enormous...Mezze tray to our table. We chose a few dishes that from the freshly prepared section. The cold dishes were left at our table and the hot dishes delivered soon after.
Mains followed and the fish dish was amazing.
The chef Jacques and the manager Washington came by to check on us, which was very welcome.
All the staff are very friendly and the service was excellent.More
Warm and friendly welcome. We were lucky to get a table on new year’s day.
A good choice on the menu, but it’s not very detailed - it’s unclear what comes with the dishes. Whilst the staff were friendly the service was slow, it was...a busy night by the end with all the tables full.
When our food did arrive it was fairly tasty and looked good. I would say you’d need to order the meze platter with any main for any sauce accompaniment. The bill had a tip included already, there’s an automatic 10% charge after 200 Rand!!! It was one of our more expensive meals in CT but did not make it onto Instagram.More
Decided to try this place out as had seen it in passing. They bring a platter with a choice of starters to choose from and there is a menu of the mains to add. No prices for the individual mezze choices but think our 2...were 55/65R each. Both had chicken kebab with rice. Not the greatest with fatty chicken used and had much better at home. Compared to the excellent meal from last night (Il leone) and a price difference of 50R I would not return here. Extremely depressing background music too does nothing for the atmosphere.More
Thoroughly impressed with the service received at the restaurant. Wide spread of tapas, starters and mains. Will definitely be visiting again when I’m back.
Would be great if they serviced lunch too but dinner there is an experience too.
We read a beautiful write up in the “Eat Out” Magazine about this restaurant & we felt like eating good Turkish food! We walked in and were impressed with the decor. We ordered our starters which was fairly average. We should have stop just there....This is a restaurant that should close its doors since it does a terrible disservice to Turkish food! The chicken kebab had a fishy taste & the Anatoli Lamb meal was burnt. What Turkish restaurant cannot do fluffy cous-cous? Uber disappointing!! Hope the owner of this restaurant takes his family to eat at his/her restaurant & expose them to terrible food! Get your act together or close up!More
We spent a rainy evening enjoying a 3-course dinner at Anatoli in Cape Town. The choices for cocktails, Turkish appetizers, mains, and dessert were numerous. We opted for variety in each course and shared -- there were 3 of us and plenty of food to...share. The Turkish rice pudding was the best I've ever had -- rose water with a hint of cinnamon made it great. The server was attentive, but didn't hover and let us enjoy a leisurely pace. The cost was very reasonable.More
We have been visiting Anatoli for more than 30 years. It is a lovely venue with good service.
We restricted ourselves to the starter tray (that they bring to the table) last night - this is far more interesting and varied than the massive main...courses, mostly of lamb dishes. The starters were great - hot and cold ones.
At a cost of about R500 Rand (2 glasses of wine included), Anatoli is however getting quite expensive.More
