We ate here as a family of four
On the 23rd December had to wait for a table as it was very busy.
The first table offered was next to the toilets where there was always a queue so we delinced. And was happily moved without fuzz to a better table.
Starters were very good mains all pizza could be better.
Frozen bases? Our server were friendly and helpful
But we all agreed maybe tone down the menu because there is far far to much choice
Do a few things good that would be better

Thank you for your review and are disappointed you did not have a memorable occasion. We definitely do NOT use frozen bases and make our pizza bases fresh on a daily basis!

What a great place to eat!
During our recent visit to Cape Town we ate at Balducci’s a few times, the food is delicious and great quality. The menu is vast and varied, fish, pasta, pizzas, salads and steaks. The atmosphere is lovely, it gets quite busy at times but you’re always made to feel special. Muzi, our waiter was great, very helpful, friendly and efficient, he made sure we had a fantastic experience.
Make sure that you don’t leave Cape Town without visiting Balducci’s.

Met up with old friends for lunch today at Balducci and it never fails to impress. The service was excellent and the food as described on the massive menu, Vegetarians and Vegans brilliant catered for as well as other diets, like gluten free etc. Great atmosphere - maybe a bit noisy for some, but thoroughly enjoyable.

Staff in the evening were very pleasant and helpful and tended to all our needs
Food was delicious. We shared a few differences items off the menu and everything was lovely. Wok noodles
Pizza starters and desserts
The next time we visited for lunch a week later the staff had little knowledge of the menu and weren’t very attentive. Two very diff experiences. Food was still lovely so hats off to the chefs

Booked a table for dinner. Friends arrived, how embarrassing, the two white wines we chose the restaurant said they had no stock!!! Not good for a start. When questioned it appeared the restaurant had NO Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc below the rather high wine prices on their menu. My husband spoke to the Manageress, asked to speak to her superior and was told he wasn’t prepared to discuss. Sadly we realised that this restaurant were out to make money from “overseas” visitors and no longer wanted to advertise/sell wine under R240 ( house wine recommended) when asked where their “house” wine came from was told “various blends/estates”. I do have to stress, this was not about the cost just the principal that they no longer stocked the wine we requested. We found their attitude to be “ sorry but you have accept it”..... when we paid the bill the attitude of the waitress was awful, we drank sparkling water ( expensive compared to Stellenbosch Wine Estates) plus food, left 10% tip - obviously not sufficient. Will NEVER be back nor NEVER recommend to our U.K./USA/ European friends.

We are sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience as we did not have a few of the wines you requested in stock HOWEVER the menu does state that our wines are subject to availability!!
The service ambassador and manageress on duty discussed this with you and the staff member even brought you a taster of the house wine and told you the price of R240 per bottle and you accepted?
I dont understand why you are so upset but if the price of R240 for a bottle of wine is too much for you then there are many other budget restaurants or franchises where you can get cheaper and less superior quality wine.

On the far tip of the V&A Waterfront, close to an entrance and with tables outside if you wish. Reasonable vegetarian and vegan menu; when we visited (twice) we were shown to a very good table even though the place was packed. Good food, good range of wines at reasonable prices.

From the moment I booked, feedback from the restaurant via SMS and e-mail was brilliant.
A stunning location with a menu that would leave no one lacking.
I've seen "meatier" oysters in my life, but they were fresh and tasty. I'd like to see Steenberg Life From Stone added to the wine list.
Samuel, our waitron, was an absolute star.
Not cheap, but SERIOUSLY good value for an amazing meal. We'll certainly return.

Thank you to all the service ambassadors for their impeccable professionalism, in particular Jillian and Karon. The attention to detail and customer service culture is vivid throughout the whole dining experience.
The food was fantastic (I had the vegan Thai curry - an excellent choice with Jillian's advice - and the vegan peanut butter brownie and vanilla ice cream, and my companion had the rump with side salad)

We dined here a couple of times and were delighted on both occasions. The menu is long and there is something to suit all tastes and all at very reasonable prices. The wine list is also long and good value. Service was efficient and friendly. Of note was the fillet steak which was tender, tasty and of the highest quality. Overall this is a superb restaurant and extremely good value

We strolled around the Waterfront looking for a place to eat,yet nothing enticed us. Until we stumbled upon Balducci's. What an exceptional restaurant. What surprised me the most was their extensive plant based menu that was hard to find around the Waterfront. Our waiter, Muzi, was an exceptional host and treated my family with professionalism and respect. Thank you for a great experience.

we stayed in cape town for 6 days and this was the best all round restaurant we visited, it was so good we went there twice. The salt and pepper squid was absolutely delicious. also the service was first class.

While in Cape Town we dined at Balduccis twice. I was part of a group of six. The restaurant is located at the V&A Waterfront and the views are stunning.
The first time we visited, Brilliant was our server. He was amazing! Very attentive and he offered some great suggestions. The second time Fabrice was our server. He also was amazing!
The menu is over 20 pages of goodness! Everything that we ordered was soooo good!

We absolutely loved everything about Balducci's The variety of food, was splendid. Our waiter Curtis was fantastic. My daughter and I chose something from the Vegan menu and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak special and my son had the lasagne. We came back another night and was served by Mandla with the same great service and excellent food.

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Cape Town. My brother is Vegan and it had good vegan options which helped to have both as the rest of the family are not Vegan. I throughly enjoyed my meal here, i had pizza with avacado (first time on a pizza) and it was lovely, really worked. I also tried a couple of cocktails and they went down a treat.
It was a nice setting, indoors but the big windows open to give a nice breeze and the feel of being outside too with the hussle and bussle.

My husband and guest each had a delicious sirloin steak and chips at Balducci`s. Service was exceptional and the ambience great. After having been closed due to Covid, what a welcome back to the Cape Townrestaurant scene. Covid precautions strictly taken.
