Our dinner for two at Savoy was unsatisfactory. Two courses took two hours to get out if the kitchen. Food was below average in presentation and flavorless in taste. Our waitress was friendly. Surely this can't be the Savoy that everyone raves about?!More

We stayed at the Cape Heritage Hotel, which has several great restaurants right there in Heritage Square. Our meal at Savoy Cabbage was delicious, with great service. Interesting meats, not found on American menus, included zebra, warthog, and ostrich sausage. I would certainly recommend this...More

Not sure how this restaurant professes to be high service. On a Monday night we waited 1 1/2 hours for entrees to be delivered. It felt like a restaurant still trying to work out the kinks but we know that it's an old established place....More

Interesting menu, and very tasty food. Expensive by CP standards, but cheap to a European. Nice environment, good service.

I have been coming here regularly for the last ten years. I am reviewing it again, because inexplicably, it seems to be experiencing a run of bad reviews. I can only suggest a couple of possible reasons. Cape Town diners are notoriously fickle and always...More

Having been told how great this restaurant is we decided to try it.. There were four of us and all agreed that it was average. I chose the tomato tart which had uncooked soggy pastry in the centre. Two average lamb chops were garnished with...More

We got in at short notice on a Saturday night - that's a hint of sluggish demand. We'd heard good things about the place but also that it was off its best. The menu is varied and interesting, the service professional, attentive and friendly. We...More

Arriving in Cape Town in early evening, our hotel recommended a visit to the Savoy Cabbage restaurant which was nearby. We had read about the restaurant prior to leaving the UK and realised that it has been around for some considerable time. Delightfully, the design,...More

I read many great things about this place and decided to book for a family member's birthday. I booked days in advance and specifically asked for a nicer table for a special birthday. We were a party of 5 and got seated right by the...More

I had high expectations however even though they say they are vegetarian friendly there was a very limited choice. The food I had was not particularly interesting or tasty. I found this restaurant a disappointment.

Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
