Always enjoy this unfussy venue. Very good wine list to match a varied and often changing menu. Steak tartare amongst the best in town; tomato tart a signature dish; cheese soufflé outstanding. Game dishes a speciality. The chocolate mousse outrageously good.

The food was great, however the service was not great (especially in comparison to the service received elsewhere in Cape Town). Would eat here again, in the hope that we just had a subpar waiter this time.

We went on a Monday and was busy even for a Monday night! There was some traditional dishes and some more adventurous dishes. All in all was a lovely meal. Exceptional service, polite and friendly! We were the first ones there at 7 so was a bit quiet - would maybe eat a little later so that it fills out!

Delicious choices from the exotic (zebra) to wonderful twists on favorite dishes (the gazpacho, and the broiled fish)! A portion of the proceeds benefit local charities, too. And wonderful service! Reservations are a must!

Great meal, great service, and great wine. Knowledgeable waiter helped us to make good meal choices. Food was well presented and delicious. Ambience was modern industrial, with a split level dining area. Staff were very helpful with transport after the meal.

We had an excellent meal. The range of food was very broad from tomato tart to cured zebra as a starter to elan, warthog, lamb and beef for mains so pleases the adventurous and the not so adventurous. Desserts were also delicious. Good range of wine and the service was top rate throughout our meal.

Excellent meal. The chicken liver pate was to die for! Weren't sure which wines to choose for main course but our superb and friendly waitress was very helpful letting us sample some wines before choosing a bottle! Will definitely be back!

Made a reservation for a Monday night, glad we did as things were pretty busy. The restaurant is beautifully presented and modern with a counterpoint of industrial charm of exposed brickwork and ducting. The service is second to none, the staff are very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wines answering questions confidently. Tonight an amuse bouche of tomato... More

We visited Savoy Cabbage after the recommendation of a foodie friend. The food was delicious and the wine recommended as well. My only criticism is that the waiter never presented the food. All though written in the menu (but who has such a good memory?) I like the food to be presented at the table, and with the price level... More

Description
Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
