The menu was limited and the food disappointing. The food spent too long on the pass or was over cooked as my warthog was very dry. The service was ok but our waiter overpowered us with his deodorant. Had so looked forward to this based...More

The menu, which changes slightly each day, is actually much longer than it was in our earlier year,. likewise we have expanded the wine list quite considerably. Your warthog should not have been dry. We would happily have cooked you another portion if chef agreed...More

This place will feed you well, be friendly, offer excellent service and take you away from the concrete and steel of the centre and the artificiality of the V and A quarter. A fellow traveller recommended this place having used Trip Advisor of course. We...More

This time I visited Capetown with a friend who had not been there for almost twenty years. We had actually been together with some friends at the Savoy Cabbage's first new year Eve. Remembering how much she had enjoyed her night then we decided to...More

I organised a meal for 23 people at the Savoy Cabbage. The service before booking was excellent and was the same standard on the night. The food was excellent. I especially appreciated the high quality vegetarian and gluten free options available.

Did you ask the manager to explain about the wine list? Some wineries only deliver once a week or less and now is a period of major vintage changes so for instance if it says we have 1 of something the new vintage is in...More

good quality fare and service ( unusual food for the European palate including wilde beast and I think zebra when available ) -Michellin type standard cooking - the decor is nothing too special but then again you are there for the food aren't you. Went...More

Attentive service. Delicious food and wine. Booking needed. Even though I had booked the host had difficulty finding me on his list. The ambience of the place felt intimidating... the gated entry ... the dedicated host ... was I under dressed in shorts and t-shirt?...More

Disappointing dinner. We went with high expectations, were met and welcomed by a lovely lady who carefully checked that we were happy with the table choice. Service from Michael our waiter was really excellent, attentive, thoughtful and helpful. The food however was just average. Both...More

I am delighted you enjoyed your evening and the food. Welcome to Cape Town, where we do on occasion need security to protect customers, cars and our staff when they lock up in the early ours! Our current one is huge and has been a...More

Not what we expected. The food was „ok“, the ambiente „messy“ and the service dissapointing. This place may just hat a „bad day“, but we have been dissapointed.

Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. Free range organic and ethically sourced ingredients. Allergies catered for. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
