Our experience at Savoy Cabbage began at the door with a pleasant greeting and welcome. Shown upstairs, our server appeared instantly and continued to be in the right place at the right time through out our meal. She made suggestions for starters and mains that would pair well, and brought wines for us to try before ordering. Portions of well... More

We decided to skip out on the Jazz Festival one night to enjoy a nice romantic dinner together at Savoy Cabbage. It was a delightful experience! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. We had a bottle of the fabulous Cape Guild Winemakers Reserve (only one barrel made) and loved it so much, they let us purchase a bottle to... More

From being greeted warmly at the door to the indulgent waiters who answered every question we had, this was a truly memorable meal. The food changes regularly to accommodate the availability of fresh ingredients and it makes for amazing combinations that is well presented. Our starters and mains were a Taste experience . The Wine List is a discovery by... More

We were here twice. The restaurant is a bit hidden from the main road, so its not easy to see. The food is truly remarkable. The chief is world class and have carefully designed each menu to surprise diners with a great fine dining experience.

What a sad, sad let down it was! We had the highest hopes for this restaurant- but from the wishy washy interiors to the very, very unprofessional waiters, and average food. I was shocked that an restaurant that was so highly rated could preform so low. Would not wast my time here- way better places in Cape Town.

Re-visited the Savoy Cabbage after an absence of 10 years. Delighted to find it was as good as ever. The food was delicious, the staff very pleasant and helpful and the overall ambiance was great. We even managed to eat at the same table as 10 years ago! Recommend the twice cooked cheese souffle - it was incredible! Also thoroughly... More

Went for dinner and was delighted by the food and service. Wine list is great but even better was the unpretentious advice about what was good (I suspect everything was really). Nothing about this experience could have been improved. If you get the chance book a table and prepare to be blown away!

An excellent meal was marred when we found a metal staple in one of the parties meals. We pointed this out to our waiter who apologised to the person concerned but there was NO reaction from any of the management who seemed to ignore the problem. We consider this to be quite serious and required some sort of apology to... More

This was indeed a most unfortunate incident. I came in early this morning to write to you, but by then your review had appeared. When the General Manager was told about the incident he needed to assess what the foreign body was. In fact it was not a staple, but a small thread of steel wool, which is what each... More

while they are generally not open for lunch, the restaurant accommodates guests for lunch if they book. In this case we were the only ones. The menu is the same as for dinner and as a result the prices are a bit steep for just lunch. We each chose two starters and were pleasantly surprised. Good quality and tastes. e.g. I... More

Thank you for your lovely review. We are open for lunch every day Monday to Friday. No need to book! As you will have noticed there is a construction site opposite us and early in the year the noise was terrible. This is now much better although we do still tend to keep the door closed. What many lunch customers... More

Description
Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
