Recommended by our hotel and slightly off the main drag a little way up Hout Street Savoy Cabbage served us one of the best three course meals we have both ever had. The cooking was simply sublime - starters (tomato tartt and cheese soufflé) both perfectly cooked, while the mains (duck breast and three pigs) out of this world -... More

Nice restaurant in Cape town! Downstairs and upstairs. Big open kitchen. Good variety of dishes but not to much, so you don't get lost. I recommend the 3 little pigs! Super delicious! Don't forget dessert ...

We couldn't get a table at the first place, so asked for a near by recommendation. We weren't disappointed, we all really enjoyed the food, lots of great flavors and well presented. Attentive professional waiters. It's not cheap, but still worth it for taste and quality.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! Dinner on a Saturday night turned out to be the best of our stay in South Africa. Our waitress was both knowledgeable and fun to discuss the different courses with, and we ended up going for the Beetroot Salad and Spiced Roasted Nuts Salad, both fresh and with lots of interesting taste combinations. For main... More

Ambience very good. Our waitress was excellent. My starter was excellent but the main course was dreadful.. I left about half of it on my plate. The waitress asked if I needed a doggie bag which I declined. She picked up that I wasn't happy and asked why. Which I told her the pork was dried out and had a... More

Savoy Cabbage is an old favourite and quality standards are rigorously sustained. The restaurant - located on the edge of Cape Town CBD, has lots of 'old Cape' character in their building- which has almost gone from the new and strident city. Great cooking, service, menu choices and wine list. Well done The Cabbage!

This was our second time eating here, the first was 3 years ago when it was recommended to us by our very high end hotel. This second time did not disappoint with good vegetarian options and several excellent meat options including zebra and wildebeest. The starters are varied and quite good and one could also make a meal from several... More

We had one of our best meals here. The service was excellent and the good wasm memorable. I had the best meal at our table. Springbok appetizer and the special warthog. We had a delightful wait staff who helped make our evening memorable. I wish I could remember our young lady's name. I do remember her brother worked at the... More

This was a great recommendation. Quirky warehouse style restaurant with great vegetarian options. The tomato tart, simple yet perfectly executed is a must. Excellent, knowledgable staff and great atmosphere

Our party of four explored the menu. We had the tomato tart starter -- excellent execution. The chicken livers -- delectable. For mains, our table ordered the impala, sweebreads, lamb and santer. All were better than very good. All were excellent. We could not have been happier. A shared lemon tart sealed the deal. Refreshing and tart. Meanwhile, our service... More

Description
Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
