The ambiance and food was spectacular. Every dish was unique and full of flavor. My favorite dishes were curry patties, chicken legs, broccoli salad and the dipping sauces were amazing. The community style serving was great and you can re-order your favorite dishes throughout the meal. Drinks including water are an additional charge. Cons: the per person cost fluctuates and... This is an outstanding opportunity to sample the cuisine of Africa. A bit hokey in some ways but you do get a chance to try a variety of dishes and have more of nthose you like best (at no extra cost). It's a large venue covering several floors and there is a traveling entertainment troupe.

Best enjoyed in a group as you work your way through the extensive set menu of fabulous food that is best described as a communal feast. During the evening the staff members in their bright attire sing and entertain the diners. It is a FULL evening - a special occasion !Note that those you cannot handle stairs may have a problem... An African feast, similar to Dutch rijsttafel, where 16 dishes are presented to the diner. A nice variety of dishes, and flavored from all over Africa. I was a little disappointed that umngqusho - a traditional Xhosa dish was not one of the dishes.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience! I am so happy our group came to this restaurant between the atmosphere, face painting, performance, and of course food... this place was spectacular. Everyone was very nice and accommodating to our group's allergies. I had a blast! Well worth it for the quantity of food.

With only two days in Cape Town and a desire to try new foods, the Africa Cafe was the perfect choice. Even if there were only tourists, the prix fix menu was very tasty and full of surprises.

This was, by far, my most favourite restaurant in Cape Town. It's interactive and the food is delish.

We were tourists, so thought i be a fun way to experience African foods in a nice setting. It was slightly more touristy than we hoped, however the vibe as good and food as well. There was some singing and dancing by staff. We loved it, but would have enjoyed it even more if it looked like the staff also... More
