We (4 persons) came on a quiet Wednesday evening for the all you can eat buffet/menu. When our waiter took our first order, we’ve been told there is NO tuna today (in a sushi restaurant!). We ordered the prawn salad, but the avocado was completely...hard and not ripe and there was cucumber peel added what did nothing, except making the hole salad bitter. We ordered as well the prawn rose which was only rapped around with half a prawn. Over all it looks like this place wants to safe running costs, half quality in everything and no expensive tuna. Our waiter was very nice though. We will not come back.More
I have been here four times before and enjoyed it. This time, I noticed steak on the menu and ordered it. Ordered medium/well, came very pink, sent it back and after ten minutes, came back, not much better. Spoiled a nice evening with friends. Since...my friends food was good, have gave four starsMore
…..We found a remarkably good meal-deal with WIKIDEALS for 1KG RIBS, 1KG PRAWNS with CHIPS & ONION-RINGS for Four People to Share. Hence our visit here today. We were unfamiliar with the “COBBLE-WALK SHOPPING CENTRE” so we were very taken aback by the sheer size...of the restaurant “ASAMI’S ASIAN-GRILL”. When you enter you are met by very well mannered and friend-lii staff, who first make sure you are “MASKED-UP” and that your hands are “SANITISED” before showing you to your table. So you can rest a sure that they have their Covid-19 Protocols in place. It’s Safe here! The seating area is divided into two by a pigeon-hole partition where the openings have pret-tii Chinese-Trinkets on display. They have a “Smokers-room which also happens to be the bar where there are tables to sit down and eat and there is a large Pool-Table also. In the bar they have a “Happy-Hour” daily from 16:00 to 18:00. Sushi seems to be their speciality or so it seems and I say this only because of the “Mile-Long Sushi-Conveyor-Belt” that starts in the one section of the restaurant and goes all the way to the end of the other side. Wow! The have a large menu-card that offers many fish-dishes, a wine-menu and they sell wine per bottle or per glass and various other drinks at reasonable prices. Lots of daily specials like Noodle-Mondays buy one and get one free, Fish & Chips for only R 39-00 per plate, Sushi for R 169-00 eat as much as you like or can? Etc, etc. We started off by ordering “Two-Cousins” Rose’ per glass and Hazelnut Frappe’s served in glass-jam-jars. Our “KING-GRILL-PLATTER” real-lii overwhelmed us as the Ribs served was 3 x Racks very well marinated, cooked soft and succulent, the meat falling off the bone. The Prawns was a good-catch the platter filled to the brim although not big sized prawns but good enough to peel the white-flesh out of the shells, the taste & flavouring was intriguing not quite Peri-peri sharp but nice & taste-ii the fresh coriander sprinkled over it complimented it delicious-lii. Isaac our waiters was on point served us very professional-lii. This restaurant will get many more visits from us in the future……More
a Very bad sushi experience had by my family Chewy rise, chewy fish/salmon. Probably not fresh antyhing Every pieces of sushi was not made with love and care and they showed that the food quality is not on par vs other sushi competitors in this...area. We have been a loyal customer for the last 1yr - 1yr1/2 and feel that this time they really dropped the quality and experience. Especially spending a large amount on food and then the quality of food is subpar.More
I first found this restaurant about three years ago when on holiday from the UK. The Chicken and Mushroom soup is so good and a large bowl for what you pay. I have made a point of making sure that I take my friends here...whenever I am in South Afica. The rest of the menu offers excellent value.More
We went during the week for dinner. Sushi not freshly made and dry. Quality of sushi not great either. Ginger was old/dried out. No view of sushi chefs making the sushi - instead belt comes through opening in wall from kitchen and goes back again...in kitchen. One gets the idea that the sushi was pre-prepped and just added onto the belt from the fridge. This is not how it used to be though. The sushi vibe/experience is not there anymore. Sushi is about fresh, attention to detail and the visual experience - especially if it is the main attraction of the restaurant. There use to be a lot of people even during the week, however now there were hardly people - I guess they are all eating fresh sushi at any of the many other sushi options in the Durbanville area... With so many empty shops at the Cobblewalk shopping center, I would expect them to make more effort to ensure they do not become one of the closed down shops.More

Found this restaurant by chance. Decided to have Sushi and sat at the Sushi Bar. Chose their R 89.00 special for 3 plates. Wow. What a variety and freshly made Sushi. With assistance from the waiter, he helped me choose 3 delicious options. Was full...after having 12 Sushis. What an enjoyable experience. Eventually the Sushi bar was full. I was told that this was a popular Sushi venue amongst the Locals. Great friendly service. Highly recommended.More
