We went to Plant for lunch. 3 of us ordered Pho noodles...they were an inedible glutinous mess. So bad we left without paying. I thought I would give them another chance when in Camps Bay . A bright and cheerful shop with pleasant staff. Ordered...the bobotie to take away. Again it was inedible . A slushy mess of big chunks of half cooked onions a few lentils and some other crunchy veg. Beyond aweful! I wonder when last the owners or managers checked the food. Am surprised they are still in business. Go at your own peril!More

Food good but the service was not the best. Plant burger was really tasty. The red juice is highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch to their themed Greek buffet Food was good. The home made lemonade is really fizzy and fresh.the rest of the table had green juice ..also recommended. Buffet consisted of a Salad..typical radish cucumber lettuce with some crispy pita.. Spinach pies..the pastry...was a little thick.. but ok. Phyllo pastry with cream cheese..good Pita with felafel humus salad etc ..very good And deserts The baclava..it was really good..more nuts and dates than pastry..felt healthy 😂 And a semolina cake..which was ok..not really enjoyed by our table.(semolina mixed with carob? As the base..custard layered on top..) All in all ..a really good value 5 course vegan lunch for R130.(for the food portion)More

I'm neither veg, nor vegan, but I like to taste everything... I came to Plan to have a healthy and light dinner and I've not been disapointed. The Plant burger with the lentil patty was just divine. It was very tasty and fresh... The service...was very friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely come back for another detox meal!More

Driving 1 hour 30 min specially to try out vegan restaurants in Cape Town and chosen Plant was quite a let down. The lady that took our order was very unfriendly and we actually contemplated to leave. We decided to stay. My husband showed me...the tiles of the kitchen and said look how dirty are you sure this is a vegan place. Bottom line ~ food was average. Will unfortunately not return.More

on my travels, i visited a lot of vegan restaurant, but this is absolutely one of the best. Normally vegan restaurants are cooking extremely special food. But this, is normal and good. Normal meals interpreted in vegan. I love this place, i’ve been there for...4 timesMore

Sorry to say but we cannot believe the rating of 4/5 stars. Our soup tasted like someone had left some detergent in the bowl, the burger didn't have much flavor except for the artificial mustard and the falafel was more similar to green mashed potatoes...than to falafel. Nevertheless, the service was good, the live music enjoyable and the ambience nice. All in all, respect for opening a veggie/vegan restaurant in a country where eating meat is celebrated like a religion - if you're hungry though, you should seek for another place in order to be satisfied..More

Sadly disappointed with our visit here. Looked promising from the outside but, having sat down, nothing went right. We had to ask the waitress for water rather than being offered it, small thing, but when she brought it she then asked if we would like...ice and lemon with it - cool - except we sat there for 15 minutes with no sign of ice or lemon. We asked if we could order food as no one seemed interested in taking our order. No one had taken us through the menu and it appeared everything we wanted was off - though it took two trips back from the waiter to actually let us know this. When the mezze plate arrived 45 minutes after we sat down it was just poor quality everything - some Indeterminate dips and lacklustre flatbread. One of our mains, the crepe du patron, arrived just as we were starting on the mezze. Described as mushrooms, caramelised onions and a cheese sauce / I could find no sign or taste of onions and the filling was just a glutinous mess. The mushroom burger arrived after our again prompting the waiter - this looked okay - like a burger should, with fries - but the burger was actually just fried cheese with a mushroom on top. Our attempt to eat well, healthily and vegetarian was a distinct failure and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.More

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was founded 8 years ago and is going from strength to strength. Wonderful plant based food and a very wide menu. We had the nachos starter (best ever tasted) and then plant bourgoignon and the...plant burger. It would also be a great anyone wanting to try out plant based food for the first time. Staff are very friendly.More

Whenever I am in Cape Town, I go to Plant as often as I can. They have a large menu, including highlights like vegan salmon, vegan cheese and great desserts (try the gold bar) and also a nice range of beers, wine and other drinks!

The quality and array of foods perpetually evolves and improves in this vegan gem of a restaurant, which is predominantly why Plant (either branch) is my regular “go to” restaurant and cafe. The management and staff are equally delightful. I’ve never found hair in my...food (or much on my head for that matter), but was heartened to read that one reviewer (who claims to have made such a find) was able to confirm categorically that same was of “human” origin. Anything else in a vegan restaurant would be shameful :)More

Had what was initially a decent meal here, ordered the cheese sticks and the vegan ribs with my girlfriend, until I discovered some strands of human hair in the salad and on the side of my plate. When this issue was pointed out to waiting...staff, the manager approached our table and offered a free piece of fudge -which we declined- and then left. Unprofessional and embarrassing, would not recommend going here.More
