We had booked well before visiting as part of our holiday to SA. When we arrived the table they had for us was in a cramped corner spot and we had to ask the person next to us to move their chair so my partner...could get in. The starter of chilli garlic prawns was average with very little meat on them. My partner had lamb, I had beef. Mine was good but my partners was luke warm so she asked for it to be reheated. At the end she informed the waitress who went to inform her mgr. She returned with 2 glasses of bubbly as compensation but we had already had 2 bottles of wine. My partner told the manager that we werent impressed but this was dismissed. Not what was expected, this place just seems to assume it is perfect but it is not. Nice surroundings but spoilt by our experience.More

Excellent ambiance, service and food. We visited on a Saturday evening and even though the restaurant was packed, we did not feel squashed and service remained wonderful.

What a beautiful place. I loved the eclectic design features - it has an exclusive members club feel without the chichi attitude. Izzo, our server, was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and FUN! Her recommendations were spot on and she took the time at the end of...the meal to recommend somewhere for brunch the next day. The food we had was outstanding. Chilli King prawns and Patagonian calamari were melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The kingklip en pappiotte with white wine, garlic and herbs was perfection. My husband enjoyed the steak special - "heaven" apparently! With little room left for dessert, we agreed to share one - to leave without one would be tantamount to treason! The chocolate fondant did not disappoint. Our spoons clashed for the last mouthful! Would I recommend? Hell, yes. Just go and enjoy. You won't regret it.More

Best food and service we had in a long while, and we travel a lot. Highly recommending the Baby Kingklip. The wine list is well selected. The waiters know the menu and very friendly.

We only booked a table less than 2 hours before the meal. They had a busy day but could offer us a table for over 1.5 hours. The service was outstanding. Mila was great serving at our table. Starters main and cocktails were outstanding. The...bread that was served either one of the The meat was cooked to perfection. Great variety of cocktails. You definitely need to book as this place even on a Monday is extremely popular.More

We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant in February 2024 whilst in Cape Town for five days. We'd done some research prior to visiting so knew it had a good reputation, but it exceeded our expectations. The venue itself could be described as a...bit quirky, but gives off such a good vibe. We enjoyed excellent food - calamari, fish and steak washed down by some very good local wine. In addition we had three cocktails each, all recommended by our server, resulting in a great evening. Combining that with a fairly inexpensive bill of £110 for the two of us (you'd pay at least twice that if not more in Edinburgh) it was good value for money. Definitely recommend it.More

I had had this restaurant recommended to us by 2 separate people and felt I had to go - it did not disappoint! We had a salad to start and ostrich as a main course as part of the lunchtime people. Josh was our waiter...and he provided excellent service and went above and beyond. The attention to detail was exquisite especially in March component of the main and salad (each was made up of a range of different items and sauces/dressings) and in the interiors, it is a stunning settingMore

This is a more relaxed and energetic environment. It is not quiet, but that ads to the atmosphere. The food is excellent and our waitress was truly charming. We dined here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it then and we really enjoyed it...this time as well. We will be back again when we return to Cape Town next year and we look forward to the meal. The Kingclip and seafood platter were especially good. Nice sized portions as well. The fondant was prepared as it should be with a hot liquid center.More

So the library is a section of this restaurant I think is supposed to be like a stately home’s library. Fair enough, I’ll buy it, if black veils over lamps,1960s radios and dirty looking mirror walls is it then they nailed it. We sat on...2 leather arm chairs with a side table and I swear I thought it was a holding room until our table was ready. Wrong, this is where we had to eat. If you like eating with your knees at the same height as your ears on a tiny table with decidedly average food then you are in for a treat. Wait staff were great, go for drinks , don’t do what we had to do and use the radio as a second table for the salt/pepper, table candle, water and anything else small enough to make space for two dinner plates. Way overpriced for what’s on offer and as others have said on here.. you get the feeling they just don’t care.More

This buzzy restaurant is in all the guides to Cape Town and is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant city. It’s large and busy but efficiently organised. The food is good as is the service. It’s not the place for...a quiet, romantic dinner! If possible get a table on the terrace at the front.More

Utterly outstanding from the moment we arrived. We were wait-listed for a table because we’d decided to go there late in the day (please book with as much notice as possible if you can) but we were seated almost immediately. The environment is hip, slick...and luxurious and so is the crowd. Everyone in the place, staff and customers, look like supermodels but are effortlessly friendly and fun. And the food… completely wonderful! The beef fillet carpaccio is one of those dishes I will remember for the rest of my life, it was sublime and my burrata caprese salad was exactly the light and fresh dinner I wanted after days and days of wall to wall meat. If you only go to one upscale restaurant in Cape Town, please make it this one! I’d give it a 10 if I could.More

We booked KSH for our last dinner after 2 weeks on the Cape. It’s a funky place, vibrant and full of buzz. So popular even for a Sunday night. Decor is great, staff for the theme and help make the ambience so lovely. We were...well catered for and really appreciated the restaurant acknowledging our anniversary with a lovely chocolate fondue dessert on the house. Special mention to the baby kingclip - best piece of fish I’d enjoyed on the cape.More
