Since opening our doors in 2006, café Roux has become an institution in the Noordhoek Valley. It’s a place for friends and family to meet, eat good food and drink great wine. Sit outside in the sun under sprawling oak trees or in a walled-off, child-friendly corner beside the playground in summer; in winter the fire is blazing inside with good music, newspapers and magazines to amuse. The hub of the local community, we offer a fresh, seasonal menu, accompanied by specials that change regularly. Expect uncomplicated café food for breakfast, lunch & dinner with home-made cakes, scones, muffins and tarts, freshly baked in-house and served throughout the day. cafe Roux caters for vegetarians & vegans. Wonderful for the Christmas carol singalong concert this year. Wonderful fun with great food. The staff did really well to contend with orders during the concert and the food was great with a yummy vegetarian options. Great place.

A wonderful stop for lunch after a morning spent birding with a group at Cape Point Nature Reserve. A very comfortable setting, delicious food, good service and generally laid-back atmosphere (lots of folks seemed to be working on their computers while we were there). Most in my group ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese (recommended by one in the group who had eaten there before), I got the burger and fries, and everyone raved about their food. Lovely place to relax for a bit after a morning’s activities. Definitely recommend it.

Visited with family that were on holiday. Cafe Roux very strict with Covid rules . We had a party of eleven people and the service was excellent. We all ordered and the waitron had it all in order . Salad , fish and chips , pizza and calamari and all were well presented and very tasty. Staff very helpful but some dog owners were not concerned about their dogs. It may be a good idea to insist on leads particularly when in the restaurant area. Cafe Roux is very popular and for a large group reservation are a good idea. Atmosphere excellent and all in all a very pleasant time was had by all

We decided to visit Café Roux at the Noordhoek Farm Village for brunch and overall we had a good time. The restaurant was very busy, however we managed to find a nice big table for our group close to the big kids play area. They have a pretty big menu so you are guaranteed to find something you will enjoy. I had the Full Monty breakfast which really hit the spot and the other guests also really enjoyed their meals. It is good to note they also have a good kids menu available. Overall we had a good experience, however the service was a bit lack-lustre. Café Roux seems to be a popular spot and I saw some advertisements for live shows in the bathroom so if you are in the area maybe give them a google to see if they have anything going on for when you are planning to visit.

We were in the area, and I was dead keen to visit Cafe Roux after our great experience one Saturday morning for breakfast.
Yesterday (04-05-2022 my 66th birthday) the service was appalling. We waited to be served, possibly 20 minutes, after I raised my hand for service? My meal a beef burger with SWEET POTATO Chips came along with normal potato chips, which were dry and cold. I did get a new serving of sweet potato fries, after reminding the waiter. My husband ordered the chicken, pesto and pasta meal, he said apart from the over-cooked chicken the dish was tasty. We had to ask for the bill. No one came along to ask us how our meal was. The waiters gathered at the entrance chatting away all the time we were eating, we weren't the only patrons calling the waiters, one gent didn't get a menu, and after 15 minutes he lifted his hand for service. Is it only Saturdays that the patrons get great service?

Good place for having a nice cup of coffee or tea. The desserts (cake etc.) are delicious. It is a little more pricey, but therefore you get a very nice vibe and can perfectly sit outside and enjoy the beautiful garden and the Farm Village as a whole.

Went for lunch and had a great time with family and friends. Food is interesting and well prepared - the salads are well priced, ample and very tasty. It’s a popular spot in season so best to book

We needed to refuel and could not have chosen better here in the Farm Village. Thin crust FAB (feta, avo and bacon) pizzas were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will come back for more.

We went to Cafe Roux for a birthday occasion, the live music was brilliant. The menu generally only has burgers and pizzas (with one fish and one calamari dish). The mushroom burger can be recommended.

I don't go to the deep south very often but this particular day I visited a friend that side and we visited Cafe Roux. What a lovely place. Atmosphere is chilled. You can sit outside and they have lovely comfy couches. Service is very good. Pizzas are to die for. Thin base, lots of toppings. I also tried the lemon meringue which was out of this world. Big slice - very affordable. Highly recommend Cafe Roux especially if you are looking for an outdoor spot with good vibes. A big plus is that you can bring your dog along for an outing too as they are pet friendly.

Cafe Roux has been one of our favourite spots for so many years . We have always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, good food and excellent staff and service .
However , over the past couple of months, the service has been really poor . Long waits and incorrect orders seem to be the order of the day .
Hope it gets sorted as we love this spot .

Great night out with tribute band. Great atmosphere and good food. Lovely location. Food and service very friendly and excellent. Would definitely go again on our next holiday. Also looked great place to take children

First time here and surprised in the best way. My cheese burger was truly outstanding. My wife and kids had pizzas which I tried and were were also very good. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely return when next in the deep south.

Nice evening listening to an excellent tribute band that played the whole suite of tracks from Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark side of the Moon’ album. I’m more of a Status Quo fan myself but PF are of course iconic and it was really good evening. After the break they played a medley of songs which were fun in part but not what I’d paid to see. Don’t want to take anything away from the musicians however who were brilliant.

Had a late breakfast and all 6 of us had amazing meals. The service from Taku was fantastic and friendly and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at “Home”.
