Very good selection of hot breakfast dishes, pastries, coffee, and juices. We had a breakfast roll and a Strammer max, both of which were good value. (The eggs on the latter were a bit too hard despite asking for soft.) The pickles with the Strammer...max, were, to no surprise, excellent. The coffee and apple/ginger juice were also good. The reason for taking 1 point off was the service being very slow towards the end. (We had to inquire twice about the bill, so it took about 30 minutes longer to leave than expected.) We do understand that they were understaffed on a Sunday, and the options are greatly reduced for open places.More

During our Capetownstay we have been there every morning to get a great variety of bread, cake and buns like home. Everything was delicious! My favorite was the carrotcake and Dinkelstange. The bread was fresh for 3 days-perfect! The goods were presented by a very...friendly man, who did also talked in german with us. We will visit you the next time for sure. And we will recommend this bakery 💯 %.More

Small local bakery, frequented by neighborhood residents. We were underwhelmed with the service, which was very slow, and food was average. Sat in back patio, which was rustic, but charming though.

We were meeting a friend for what I thought was coffee but was offered a selection of breakfast choices. We went for scrambled eggs which were very tasty toms, mushrooms and soda bread modestly priced. When we left I saw the large selection of cakes which...were very tempting.More

My partner and I popped in here on a chilly August morning while on holiday in Cape Town. We've been learning German (but we are still too shy to actually try speak it). This little bakery is absolutely lovely! It's so quaint and filled with...interesting objects. It's warm and welcoming. Very comfortable. We both had a Cappuccino. which was really good. Wonderful for the chilly weather. I had the Pumpkin soup, which was amazing (and I am not usually a soup lover, but this was sooo good! I now need that soup in my life!). My partner had the Munich breakfast, which he loved. We also ordered some baked goodies to take away for a snack later on. Everything was great, The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared. The staff and owners are so friendly and helpful! Definitely a place I would visit again.More

Walk-in and you‘ll remind yourself as it was as a child when you got to visit your Grandma. Everything was at its place, there was always this delicious smell of a fresh baked cake, cookies, hot chocolate and fresh brewed coffee. The café is small...but very cosy. It also has a little terrace where you can sit outside, away from the city stress and enjoy a great breakfast! The variety of bread, pastries and cakes makes it hard to decide what to choose! It’s all fresh baked and tastes delicious 😋! Just walk in and have a seat, enjoy some coffe and delicious cake everybody is more than welcome 😊! You can also take out cakes, pastries and certainly bread and enjoy the delicious goodies at home or in the office! The owner Brigitte and her staff make you feel like your a part of the family with their warm and friendly vibes they spread! I will definitely be back to Cap Town and the German Dinkel Bakery will be the first place I’ll go to!!!More

Stopped in to grab 2 sandwiches to go, wanted to charge me R130. Could understand the price if it came with a salad or some kind of side but this was just for the sandwiches. Ended up only taking 1 and taste was average, definitely...not worth the R65!More

The Dinkel Bakery is a very charming place with delicious food and a great selection. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Unfortunately the owner didn't seem to be very interested in customers. She barked at her staff in front of the customers and just...ignored us. Very sad, cause the place itself is delicious but I prefer to spend my money where I feel appreciated and where people deal with their staff professional. Maybe it was just a bad day but my experience - sorry.More

For the first time I popped in to Dinkle's bakery even so I have been living in this area for a long time. I requsted 4 crispy rolls and I ended up with 2 Poppy seed and 2 other rolls ( don't know the name)...as the rest of their roll where sold out and that at 09H30 on a Saturday. At the end, these 4 Rolls costed me R40,00. Stupid of me I paid and later I thought this is a ripp of. Cut the whole story short none of these rolls have been crispy as expected and this place will never see me again.More
