We visited the restaurant for a business dinner. Service was fair. Although food was tasty they were the tiniest portions we have ever seen. Did not warrant the price we were paying. All the portions looked like they had been halved. To top it all,...the dessert mint was also a half portion. Really!More
After a long while of being away from restaurants, we decided to have a lunch at the Cape Town Fish Market in Canal Walk. It seemed fairly quiet and we chose a table overlooking the canal. The waiter, Moyo was quite knowledgeable about the menu...and we settled for various plates of food. This restaurant only matures with time and the food delivered was of an excellent quality. The medium rare steak was just that and the seafood was as fresh and tasty you really expect. No disappointment with any of the food as we went executive Surf and Turf as well as a seafood platter. We had issues before with the seasoning of the rice but this was rectified over time because the rice was more than excellent. Compliments to management and the kitchen staff as well as the waiter. It was such a pleasant afternoon with no critics at all which is rare today at the restaurants available.More

Platter for one was decent enough - fresh fish - fresh Calimari - rice and chips. So a good meal as fish was fresh nor freshly frozen and cooked correctly

Excellent Covid-19 Protocols in place. Staff friendly and welcoming. Service efficient and quick. Food was good.
Stopped by at 4pm for an early dinner. Starter of mussels to share, was great, with plump mussels and lovely creamy sauce served with toasted bread. My wife enjoyed her chicken caeser salad. I had the classic poke bowl, substituting bean curd with edame beans...- they happily did the substituition. The salmon and tuna were both fresh and nicely seasoned. Service from our waiter Richie was excellent. Overall a great experience, and we will return.More

We always had fond memories of this franchise; however sadly they have officially closed their doors in Pretoria. The waiting staff were all friendly as was our waiter. For our visit we enjoyed their calamari and fish curry. The calamari was freshly prepared and soft...with a delicate crumb covering. This was served with crispy delicious potato chips and tartar sauce. The fish curry was equally enjoyable, the curry base of tomato, herbs and spices were well balanced, with enough fish to make a full meal for two people.More

I came here for seafood and after a bit of a wait I was served my wine. I went to order and was told they were completely out of fish. Really????!
Fabulous lunch stop. Right by the waterfront, great view watching the world go by! Fabulous service. Great selection and the food was amazing. Compared to England, the food was cheaply priced for the type of food and location.
We started going to CTFM in Canal Walk 12 years ago. The food used to be excellent. We went back there yesterday (28 September 2019) and were shocked at the bad quality of the food. The Sole was supposed to be grilled but instead was...crumbed and cut square (never seen a fish that shape before). The prawns were so overcooked that they were burnt on the outside and shrivelled up. The Lemon Butter Sauce was served late after our food had got cold, then when we complained we got a version that had some sort of peri peri in it. When we asked for proper lemon butter sauce it arrived but it separated very quickly into oil and what looked like butter but did not taste like it. Maybe some CTFM franchises are still good but we wont be returning to this one!More
