We always go to Make Sushi in Sea Point because we absolutely love it. We have been there in Jan2024 and we recognized that they increased their prices - valid point and totally fair - but the Wonderful platter I have ordered was nice but...unfortunately I had also half the portion of fish on it than usually. I hope that it was only yesterday and they keep their amazing level of taste and quality.More

It was virtually a year ago that I had a meal at this Restaurant with 2 friends who had come from Somerset West to see me in Sea Point. Well on the 14/11/23 I had to take my friends back to this lovely little restaurant...for a meal since I was on holiday again in Sea Point and we enjoyed the food so much last year!. Suffice to say the Restaurant itself is not really anything to look and it is small, however, the food was just as fantastic as it was a year ago. AMAZING!! The 3 of us shared a few different starters which were really lovely and tasty. We then shared two main courses which were Chicken with Black Bean sauce and fried rice and Sizzling beef with noodles. Both dishes were really enjoyable. I actually returned to the restaurant myself for a meal in the evening on the 16/11 and had the Shanghai Beef with noodles which was very, very tasty. Unfortunately I could not eat it all so got a doggy bad and enjoyed it at my apartment the following evening!! Overall I could not fault this little restaurant, it is a popular place by all accounts. Their food is first class and the service is good. I would have no hesitation in returning here again on my experience and most certainly would recommend it if you like nice tasty Chinese food. Try it you will not be disappointed and I should probably add their prices are not bad at all. Keep up the good work folks.More

This restaurant does not honour the time they indicate for delivery. This is the third time that they take an hour longer to deliver than promised. When you phone to find out where you order is you get cut off or are left hanging. They...should not do take aways if they cannot deliver within a reasonable time that they committed to. It is a pity as the sushi is good.More

Terrible No lights , service was not very good and the worst was the restaurant freezing cold . I realise there is a power problem but if restaurants want to invite guests they cannot shy away from this . Never again Also take away utensils...using plastic and polystyrene very cheap . On a positive food well priced and sushi was very good . If you want a good dining experience this may disappointMore

This restaurant is constantly full although it is a small place. Staff and seating is pleasant, food is very nice, and portions are large. So be aware. I ordered way too much food but it all tated great. Very reasonably priced too.

Whilst on holiday in Sea Point I along with two friends went to this restaurant for lunch on 17th November 2002. I had gone into the restaurant the previous day to see if I could book a table for lunch since my friends were coming...to see me from Somerset West. Unfortunately I was told they do not take bookings. The restaurant is on Main Road in Sea Point and is a very small place but do not be put off by this. We were made to feel most welcome and let me tell you this we were delighted with the meal we had. I let me friends do the ordering and we started with Beef & Mushroom dumplings, Pork Potstickers and Steamed Prawn Dumplings . The Starters were absolutely amazing and were most enjoyable. For the main course which we shared we had Chicken and Cashew nut and Sizzling Beef with a portion of noodles and a portion of fried rice. We absolutely enjoyed our meal from beginning to end. This was all washed down with a couple of glasses of wine which was at a sensible price. All in all a really, really lovely meal which we all enjoyed. I loved the place and the service was good. No complaints about a thing. Would I return to this restaurant, absolutely I would without a shadow of doubt if I am in Sea Point again in the near future. Would I recommend it most certainly I would on the experience and food standard that we had. Dont be put off by the size of the place their food is amazing, give them a try if you have not already done so. Keep up the good work.More

An excellent meal. Excellent sushi. To be honest wonderful quality, and superb value. Better than Willoughby’s, the previous gold standard for sushi. Wonderful staff and special mention to Priscilla.

Went here for a meal with friends while on holiday in Cape Town. As others have said, this is a locals restaurant. Food was very good and we all enjoyed our meals. Definitely worth a visit

Very below average Chinese food. The corn soup and the orange chicken was barely edible. Someone recommended the place but I definitely won’t return. Other reviewers have had issues with cleanliness and I can definitely agree. I usually take photos of the food but this...was so bad I didn’t bother. Skip this place.More

Small unpretentious restaurant in Seapoint. Well frequented by locals. Has survived Covid and rye night we were there it was packed with queues outside waiting for takeaways. Excellent dim sum and good prices. Worth a visit.

Although the food is not bad we really did not feel welcome. Upon arriving and after being seated only then we were (unfriendly) told the kitchen closes in 30min but actually in 15min. The time on the door shows 22:00 and this was just before...21:00. We ordered and the food was good, but felt we had to rush. And this is a SATURDAY evening Sea Point!!🥱 At the end we shared our feelings with the owner who offered no apology and covered for his unfrienfly staff. We will not go there again and feel embarrassed as we took our friends from Malmesbury there. This is not a tme after Covid how to treat customers...😡More

The restaurant was truly filthy dirty. The food was quite nice but we were sick to our stomachs with the sight of old food on the floors and cockroaches climbing the walls. I know people like this restaurant but have the had a good look...at where they are sitting to eat. I questioned the waitress she ignored me she didn't have the good decency to call one of the owners. I counted 5 front of restaurant and 3 in the filthy kitchen. They need reporting.More

Small, inexpensive Oriental restaurant with crowded tables and queues for takeout. The tables are close together because of the size of the premises. Expect to be part of your neighbour’s experience. (Especially if he is Israeli). The food is barely adequate. The starters are best...(pot stickers and spring rolls and bao) but beware mains. Oversauced and not enough chili. The chicken is to be avoided at all costs and the duck is a dried out mess. Can not fault the rice but the noodles are dreadful. The staff are perfunctory and do their best. None are SA’n - mostly northern African countries.More
