Excellent restaurant offering a great diversity of starters and main dishes, impeccable service and well-cooked dishes, we enjoyed ourselves and came back a second time. No opinions to share on the wines….
The only downside, we found the terrace very noisy and wanted to be in the dining room the second time, it was better, but the South African restaurants have all decided to put background music above which everyone tries to speak, so the general atmosphere is very sonorous 😅😂!

From the minute we arrived it felt
Great, guitarist playing live, scanning the other tables I knew it would be hard to choose.
We went tapas rather that a la carte, what a feast.
Tuna takiki
Bao buns
Fig & blue cheese slider
Asian sliders
Carpaccio
Ostrich with mango & avocado
Plentiful wine, great coffee, loved everything and very reasonably priced.

The staff are great, the food is very good, particularly the tapas and it's a great place this time of year to be on a cold and wet evening for dinner. (It's also a great place to be on a summer evening.)
And they make a very good Negroni.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening with delicious food in a stylish restaurant. It was stylish, but the food was a complete disappointment.
We had ordered various starters and main courses.
For 2 out of 3 people, the main course came before the starter - a no-go! When I complained, I had to look at the angry face of the chef.
And I already suspected that I would probably get this steak again later.
Of course it was like that and the medium I ordered had now become a tough well done, as well as sloppy and lukewarm. It was accompanied by Lyonnaise potatoes, which were a dark mush, and the green beans that had been advertised were completely missing.
All the other dishes were also not convincing. Only the bread was really good, but we didn't come for that.
The waiter was also rather minimally friendly and listless.
We had the impression that they thought we were just tourists and wouldn't come back anyway, wrong, but we definitely won't be coming back!
I definitely don't recommend it!

We had seats outside on a covered verandah, where a guitarist was playing to create a pleasant atmosphere. We started with some excellent well-shucked oysters then 3 tapas dishes in a 3 for R250 offer - all the components were fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and friendly even though the place was busy - we’ll be back!

Got there just before 9pm and we were told they close at 10 (Not 10:30 as advertised here) and we could only have a main. Decided to proceed based on reviews. Waitress continued to rush and dismiss. When we received the bill we made the mistake of thinking gratuity was added so we added additional to that amount as usual. Sometimes the invoiced tip is shared to everyone and not just the waitress. When she brought it back she said “well the tip isn’t the right percentage”. Lol well …haven’t experienced that before anywhere in the world. Her service was poor anyway, so the comment was very entitled. We still added more money to it without “calculating” further. Food didn’t have salt. Adding salt isn’t as good as when it is cooked in the food. I wasn’t permitted starters or desserts so I can’t say more.

Had their tapas menu ( choice of 3 tapas for 250R).
Menu was excellent.
Definitely try the seared tuna, octopus, …
Staff is friendly.
Their sister restaurant Gambas bistro nextdoor is a good alternative in case La Boheme should be closed.

While staying in Three Anchor Bay we drove past La Boheme so decided to pay a visit for an early dinner. Very glad we did. The tapas menu (while more French in style than the Spanish we were expecting) was extensive and very reasonably priced at R240 for 3 dishes. We ordered a variety of plates my favourite by far was the prawns with risotto….. the risotto was the best I’ve ever tasted. Hats off to Nigel & Moses for heir excellent service too. Highly recommend you give it a go

Nigel recommended the perfect combination of the Mojito with the Ravioli starter and the Steak au Poivre.
Moses recommended the Margarita to pair with the Mussels starter and the pulled duck risotto. Absolutely delicious!

Just completing a 21 day stay in Seapoint, Cape town and have visited this and its sister location, Gambas Seafood Bistro (which is two doors away) seven times for an evening meal.
Both locations serve the very best food, freshly cooked to a very high standard.
All the staff have made me welcome, remembering me and always having time for a quick chat or recommendation on the freshest food available that day.
La Boheme is closed Sundays, but Gambas is open.
On my last night in my hotel, I chose to go to Gambas rather than eat at the hotel.
Thoroughly recommended.

I discovered this gem of a restaurant in SeaPoint, the tapas is incredible and the menu forever changes to delight your taste buds.
Whilst the a la carte menu never disappoints, you can't go wrong with the set menu (2 or 3 courses), great value for money and perfect for the not so hungry. A superb wine list to accompany delicious food that is prepared with love, will make this a restaurant to return to again and again

This is a wonderful place for dinner. We shared three kinds of tapas and the had a main each. The tuna ceviche was more like a tuna tartar but very tasty, the tempura prawns were delightful and the sirloin with bearnaise was wonderful. I loved my mushroom risotto and my husband really enjoyed the ostrich. Simply a wonderful meal.

We simply ate very well and drank equally well. The choice of tapas is very varied and some are truly exceptional. Excellent value for money. I had booked a long time ago for my birthday and they had the thought of a small cake with a candle! RECOMMENDED, a decidedly original and excellent menu.

Consistently great food and service. We visit every time we're on holiday in Cape Town and have never had a bad meal. The 3 course set menu is incredible value (I had the belly pork which was delicious) and the a la carte offering is impressive with fresh daily specials. The wine selection is varied and well priced, although the sparkling wine offerings isn't extensive.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and take Covid measures seriously.
Highly recommend. The location a main road in Seapoint may seem a little gritty at first, but it's good for people watching and we felt perfectly safe.

La Boheme Wine Bar & Bistro is near our hotel in Sea Point, South Africa. The tapas listed on the menu sounded so tasty we had to go try them. We ordered 3 different tapas each. All of them were so delicious. The mix of very fresh ingredients and delicate seasonings made for outrageously good eating. Enough so that we went back the next day for more.
Not only is the food wonderful, but the staff is so attentive, helpful, and nice. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with Viatah and Brenda. La Boheme has good food, good wine and good people. You will love it too.
