This was one of the most fun experences of my life. All of the performers gave so much beautiful and generous energy and the food was delicious. I loved how the performers moved around and it gave us time to chat amongst ourselves and then...watch a performance for a bit and so on. There was just so much variety in the whole evening. Highly recommend the drumming as well, even if, like me, you are not so inclined. Really really fun! Our server, Irene, was phenomenal.More

This was a very fun night. There was an interactive drumming session. Alot of performance : drumming, singing, dancing, costumes, different instruments. The food is presented in many small courses. Make sure you leave room to taste them all. Think it's best to reserve in...advance. Worth the visit while in Cape Town.More

I love the idea of this place. Tasting menu with samples and more if you want... Entertainment is also good - focusing on many small performances rather than one big stage show. But as others have mentioned, the place is HUGE! It seats more than...500 guests at one time with many different seating areas. We went for the 6:30 drums - and we got a great seat on the balcony level - looking down on hundred of long tables - each one holding a tour-bus load of diners. Dining starts at 7p and it's just basic logistics that you can not serve all of these people hot food. The courses pretty much came in groups of 3 dishes - none of them arrived hot. And none of them particularly tasty - since they are seasoning for a huge variety of preferences. Price is decent, service is really amazing for such a deluge of business all at one... but we were ready to leave half-way through - but due to slow arrival of the bill, actually had one of the best plates of the night, an orange-walnut cake. So - if you're with a tour group and its included in your package - you'll probably have a good time - the staff are all excellent and there are not many entertainment/culture/restaurants - just go for the experience, not for the food. But if you're on your own and willing to explore local restaurants without the show, there are plenty of options like the nearby seven colors eatery. One suggestion if you go on your own - arrive later and get seated in one of the 'private rooms' instead of the huge main hall. People there seemed to get their food served hot since the kitchen didn't have to push hundreds of plates at a time like the initial serving. You still get the entertainment - small groups of performers roam between rooms, so you won't miss out. This is a fantastic idea - I just wish that there was a similar experience that was less 'tour bus' oriented but still gave a pan-African tasting menu and cultural experience.More

We had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, which combines an introduction to traditional and tasty African foods with the performance of African music and dance. It is like dinner theater. The restaurant is full of vibrant art and decoration, the enthusiasm and talent of...the staff is remarkable, and the meal was pretty delicious also. This is definitely a touristy destination but not at all tacky. We enjoyed every minute of our experience.More

The restaurant is very large with multiple floors. It is a fixed menu with enough variety to satisfy any reasonable preference. They have a full bar and the price is reasonable with our bill totaling $132USD for 4 adults including alcoholic drinks. There is entertainment...during the meal with people singing and dancing throughout the restaurant periodically. It’s enough to get a feel for African culture but not too much that you can’t enjoy your meal. The food was great and I would highly recommend it.More

An outstanding experience. We had fourteen (1) African-themed dishes and could get more if we wanted them, along with a spectacular show of song, dance, drumming and African performing arts. Yes, this is a big tourist venue, but so much fun and such a wonderful...bargain. Anyone coming to Cape Town should definitely plan to come to this venue. It is an unforgettable experience both for the food and for the show.More

visited for the show whilst in cape town as it seemed a good night out.we were on the top floor which was a long slog up and had a table near the steps, off course you dont get 14 courses, you get a small plate ( or...less ) with the food coming out with 3/4 courses at at time ( even the bread for the soup was counted as one course ? ) you can pick and choose if you dont like one but to be honest its all a bit stop/start etc etc as you get the shows that come round once they have done the other floors.as i said we had the table near the entrance so got all the noise from the drumming etc etc which is a bit of a pain.they also forgot id paid a deposit ( which won me a bet with my girlfriend as it seems everybody in cape town is after a few rand ,not that im against it just dont want to be ripped off ) the face painters didnt get to us till it had nearly finished so seemed a little pointless.so although it wasnt a complete disaster as the food was ok it caters for the tourist thats for sure,if you want peace and quiet,go eleswhere in cape town ,theres no shortage :)More
