During 2018 I had often visited the bar/cafe with a friend. At first the vodka and cranberry was good, then they changed it to Vodka and fizzy lemon drink, which was disappointing. We often had a basket of chicken strips which is perfect with drinks...and shots. We also often had banana splits, which was great. The bartenders are really friendly and the cafe seating area subdued. The entire experience is always relaxing.More

The place was recommended to us by a walking tours guide for authentic African cuisine. The food was below average (worst in South Africa we had so far) as the meat was ok, however instead of medium-rare I got a ostrich that was cremated before...being served. My gf had a stew of beef that was difficult to chew. However, the worst part was vegetable and pap. Veggies were originally frozen and probably warmed up in a microwave, the pap was absolutely flavorless. The place was more expensive than other restaurants with much better meal we ate in and last hit was when we got the bill with 10% tip already added to our meals. First, we did not see this habit spread in SA, second, the quality of the food/ambience/service did not justify it at all. Ironically, we passed by several great looking places where we could have had our dinner instead. Well, next time.More

Sorry but we wouldn’t recommend going there. We don’t know about the ostrich, kudu or special platter but what we’ve eaten was just basic food and we didn’t enjoy it. The restaurant was empty so the atmosphere wasn’t that nice. Might be better when there’s...live music and people around !More

I had seen this place advertise wild game meals so I stopped in for their Kudu and Springbock. Both prepared as kabobs and quite delicious. I didn't realize they had live music, but I enjoyed that too.

This restaurant has some of the best food you will eat. They have numerous game steaks, served with very nice African sauce and veg + rice/pap, and numerous other dishes, and yes it is a little pricey but you get what you pay for, I...assure you of that!! I couldn't recommend a single dish, they're all fabulous!! I never one cleared the plate: the portions were so generous there was always a good amount of rice or pap left over!! The waiting staff were very prompt and efficient and very pleasant in their manner. There is live music most nights, which was very nice, unobtrusive and in some cases down-right entertaining! Thanks to the chef and thanks to Tracy the wonderful waitress.More
