We had a lovely evening at the Thali. Hugo, our waiter, deserves 10 stars 🤩 We had so much fun with him. The food was, as always, amazing. I can highly recommend the Thali!!

Best Curry I’ve ever had . Open kitchen and The vibe brilliant ,young and friendly . Foodies with open minds will love it . Not pretentious in any way and great value . Deserves all the plaudits it gets . Our best family meal of...the stayMore

Don’t really get this place. Have previously visited a couple of Chefs Warehouse and really enjoyed. Firstly no book system in place - why? So arrived early in the expectancy of it being busy to find it empty on a Friday evening! 3 course menu...similar to other CW’s but just not for us. Spinach bhaji just a crisp really, chicken kebab coated in sauce but not charred. Nan bread like shop bought and don’t think had seen a tandoor! Some parts were pretty good including daal, tacos and lamb curry. As an aside dearest water we have experienced by a long way. Felt overall overpriced and will not be returningMore

Non traditional Indian-inspired food served in the tried and true format of Chefs Warehouse tapas for two, paired with a bottle of Gabriëlskloof Chenin Blanc. Since 2016, Liam Tomlin and his team have been building layers of flavour at this Cape Town much-loved neighbourhood restaurant...just off Kloof Street, where you walk in without a reservation (partly because they don't take reservations: it’s first come, first served) before you dive into a three-course set menu of innovative Indian food, abundantly plated. What you can expect from a visit to Thali? A charmed fairy-lit courtyard setting (like the one pictured here), and delicious shareable food packed with flavour, colour and textures. Some tried and tested staples on the menu: Spinach Bhaji, Date & Tamarind Chutney, Herb Dressing Spiced Urad Dhal Gobi Wali Sabzi Duck Kebab Pepper Crusted Venison, Parsnip Puree, Onion, Leeks Lamb Korma Khatti Wali Machchi Kari.. ..Even a Fish taco Thali-style. Each of the three courses arrives with multiple dishes, condiments, sauces and breads, all made fresh daily in-house – with a progression from milder and lighter finger foods to spicier, more substantial curries, overseen by Chef Nathanael Coe. PURE GOLD!More

A memorable experience - incredible food and wonderful service We had both the meat/poultry/fish and vegetarian options - what a gastronomical delight - all dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful - each plate was delicately spiced and tasted incredible The best Indian cuisine I’ve had...anywhere in the world (Dishoom in London was a benchmark) Get there early so as not to be disappointed, as no table bookings can be made Service from all the staff was great (big thanks to Keanu for your wonderful service and explanations) Not to be missed - will most definitely be backMore

Beautiful building and stunning setting. We had both the vegetarian and meat set menu for 2, but to serve 4 of us and the food was unbelievable. It was served in 3 seatings with plenty of time in-between to enjoy and savour the food. Lots...of food and every dish was extremely tasty and well presented. Service was also brilliantMore

Please dont go if you have a food allergy of any kind. Their waiters are simply not capable of understanding how to cater to such needs. Our daughter is allergic to egg and we specifically asked which items on the menu have egg. The waiter...couldnt understand this so asked his supervisor to come. He told us what items are egg free. Once the food came on the table, we confirmed again but to our shock the waiter misinformed us and she ended up having a few bites of food which had egg.More

Great indian food and great experience with friendly professional and knowledgeable staff .We were last here in November and its one of our 'must do' places on our annual visits to Capetown .Dinner only now and no booking but if you are there by 645/7...pm pretty well assured of table straight away -if not go to bar next door and they will call you -never had to do this but probably time for 1 drink !Food is 3 courses 4/5 items per course and takes around 13/4 -2 hours -vegetarian menu available as well as conventional meat /fish/vegetable -for 2 people including excellent naan /roti .-with a couple of decent bottles of wine and tip we spent 1850 rand -about 100 euro-good value for outstanding quality food .while menus are fixed if something doesnt suit eg my wife does not eat shellfish or we both dislike aubergine no problem substituting across menus -standout dishes -swordfish tandoori kebabs served in own red hot mini tandoor pots ,dhaal /roasted spiced cauliflower ,naan and variety of pickles /chutney /yogurt .Just be careful with the lime pickle ! try to avoid centre of long room -near cooking station and can get hot obviously -garden terrace is our favourite -weather permitting- its sheltered from wind -all tables are well spaced .Pace hops with varied crowd of all ages /ethnicities/local /tourist .More

You can choose multi-course vegetarian or meat dishes. Happily, we were a group of five,so we did both. Every dish was outstanding— and presented beautifully. This is a Cape Town must for Indian food lovers.
