Sat out in the sun yesterday in this lovely sheltered spot with a view to Devils Peak. Excellent coffee. We had a sweet corn fritter stack with bacon and a croissant egg Benedict with bacon. Both were scrummy. Friendly waitresses and relaxed atmosphere for a...More

The place is beautiful. My avocado toast was close to perfection. Nice juice as well. Well definitely come back for a dinner.

It is rare that a gourmet, slow-dining experience can be as attractive and enjoyable to kids as well as adults, but Cafe Paradiso managed, exceptionally, to hit that note for us as we enjoyed a lovely long lunch on the terrace during our last visit...More

My husband had "the best steak ever" at this multiroom restaurant on lively Kloof Street. It came with a chili-chocolate sauce that got him raving. Meanwhile, looking for a change of pace, I had a really good vegetarian couscous dish with nuts. This is a...More

We choose this restaurant because very small children can make their own pizza or desert (cake) in the front of the kitchen. All persons needed to wash their hands carefully before doing the kitchen work. One of the kitchen staff assistend in making the pizza...More

Six of us went for dinner on a Saturday night. It was too crowded for us to get patio seating but the inside table was OK. The menu was ample (mostly Italian) and we had no major complaints with the quality. However, it was annoying...More

We had lunch here and sat outdoors in the good weather. It was lovely. Great salads. The burgers were also exceptional. Large portions and good service.

They had lots of kids activities inside. No reason to think that Sunday would be excluded, but don't know for sure.

Description
Established by the inimitable Freda, Cafè Paradiso immediately set the bar for local cuisine and, from its inception, introduced us to a variety of dishes and ingredients seldom before experienced locally. Loving the idyllic setting and the warm ambience, Capetonians eagerly tucked into exotic and ‘foreign’ fare such as tzatziki, dolmades and babaganoush as well as the delicious country-style dishes which emanated from Paradiso’s bustling kitchens. Joined by three more formidable women, Laurille, Lynn and Mapula, Frieda and her team remained the heart of city trading with a lineage of values forming the foundation of this amazing establishment.
