On a recent trip to Cape Town and South Africa in general, this came reccomended to us by our guide, and some fellow travellers. An amazing choice. This restaurant is known more for traditional South african specialities and appears to cater for all meat tastes....The style is rustic with dark wood throughout. I personally went for a ostrich and springbok kebab. I was extremely satisfied that is did. Both meats skewers were massive with well cooked flavoursome meat (with a meat liquor to accompany). Ostrich is not unlike steak in texture and flavour and very lean, the springbok slightly more rich in colour and flavour. Highly reccomended. If you like meat, and are willing to try something a little different (to most WesternEuropean tastes) this is reccomened for a taste of South AfricaMore

To begin, this restaurant is a hidden gem; I can only describe it as the greatest steak I've ever had, a sentiment shared by my girlfriend. We've had the good fortune to eat at some of the world's most upscale steakhouses, some of which have...Michelin stars; this outperformed them in terms of food quality and taste. Granted, the venue's decor could not be compared to that of similar businesses, but it was also what made it so unique. It had a family atmosphere to it, with the restaurant manager present to ensure everything was flawless and to converse despite his hectic schedule. The cuisine was excellent, the meat quality superior to anything I've ever eaten, and the service was prompt, pleasant, and personable. Great meat, great place and very nice staff! Although very busy and crowded managed to squeeze us in and delivered us the best meat in South Africa.

If you want a good steak in Cape Town head here. We were a group of 3 for evening dinner, the atmosphere is like that of an old English pub. The server was very helpful choosing from the menu, advising what steaks were available, we...had one non meat eater who had options from the menu. The food was excellent, the host was great and very chatty. This is an ideal place to go with friends. We'll certainly come back if in Cape Town.More

Really looked forward, as highly recommended by fellow meat lovers. Curb appeal low, but inside had a ye olde pub feel. Manager was friendly. Our server Sipho was not great however. Long lag in getting our first round of drinks. He had no idea what...the size of the carafes were and didn’t bother finding out either. But the manager happened by later and he informed us it was 250ml. Food: Starters were very good, for mains the Lamb chop and Sirloin was excellent. Prime rib on the bone was a bit tough so disappointing. What really let them down though is the fact that we were charged for an extra bottle of wine, an extra glass of wine, and an extra bottle of water. Considering we were a table of only 4 and one person was not consuming anything alcoholic, that was quite an obvious flaw. When pointed out to our waiter, he failed to muster a convincing apology or culpability, he more or less just shrugged off the error, but he did then remedy the bill. So do carefully audit your bill when you visit.More

Looked for a good steak place to eat and this was recommended. Wow. The wonderful smell of the cooking hits you as soon as you walk in the door to a very warm welcome from the wonderful staff. Lots of choice on the menu but...I only wanted Steak and was not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth and a wonderful flavour. The restaurant had so much to offer I would have come back every night. If ever in Cape Town, it is well worth a visit. Love the little extra fun table/place mats too.More
