Had made a booking for 7pm arrived at 6.45 pm. Service was great, floor manager came around twice to ask us if everything was okay and up to standard. Our waiter also popped around twice. We had the Fetechini Alfredo which tasted delicious and was...a good portion of food. We were out by 7.40 pm after a couple of drinks. Did not have a starters or desert. Do book in advance. Place was full when we left.More

I visited this establishment with friends as we were catching a show at the Grand Arena. Service was very slow and we had to wait for an hour for food to arrive. My lamb was not seasoned and my side salad was drenched in some...cheap, store bought excuse of a dressing. No olive oil or balsamic set foot on the table. This is supposed to be an Italian Restaurant! My friend's lamb was supposed to come with a garlic and wine sauce. All she got was about 6 tablespoons of raw inedible pieces of garlic that spoiled her meal. A complete waste of time and money. There is no service and the food is poor. We should of maybe went to One of the franchises fast food outlets.More

We chose a cold evening to visit when most people were not out & about. Seeing only chain restaurants at the casino complex we chose this Italian restaurant purely due to it being not part of a chain/franchise. Service was not overly attentive, orders were...slow to arrive. We choose the winter set menu which was good value for money. The spaghetti & meatballs was good...but only 3 meatballs & a spoonful of sauce in a big dish of pasta seemed a little stingy? A place to grab a bite if all u need is a quick chow down?More

The place is a mix of fake, cheap and kitch Italian decor. The food is so so at best especially if you are amateur of traditional Italian food. The service is ok. I really cannot recommend the place but the problem is that inside Grand...West there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of better restaurants.More

I took my parents for an early lunch, arrived at 12 noon no other patrons. Immediately gave our drinks order for 4 coffees and 10 minutes later 12:10 gave our food order. 3 out of 4 coffees arrived. No apologies for a mistake but agreed...to bring a 4th. This was to arrive 20 minutes later. After waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes our food had still not arrived. Other patrons who had arrived after us were being served their food. When questioning management I was given a very poor disinterested excuse. We did wait and have our meal which took 1 hour 40 minutes to serve 2 pizzas and a pasta. However 3 other tables did not have the some patience and left the restaurant without having their meal! This type of attitude and level of service is totally not acceptable!More

We picked this lovely Italian restaurant to test our first voucher (buy one main and get one free) from my new 'The Entertainer' voucher book. What a great experience, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional, with really friendly and helpful staff. Even...the manager on duty made his rounds at the tables (you don’t see that everywhere anymore). The venue gives a true Italian feeling and even though it is situated inside the casino, it feels like you are sitting outside (so it is perfect for bad weather evenings).More

I am not going to say that this is one of the best places I have been but the food was good, staff very helpful and friendly. Drinks and food reasonably priced for the casino, my partner had a steak and was happy with it...and could not fault my pasta. I would recommend this place if you are not having a special occasion.More

We were at Grand West and was just looking for something to eat - so no special occasion. The service was very slow, waited quite a bit to get a table, and also took a long time before waiter came to get our order and...to bring drinks. I have no complaints about the food, but we only had a foccacio and starter to share, so cannot really comment on the food. The foccacio was good, and the other starter was enjoyable, with nice presentation. The menu is quite varied, with quite a lot of options for vegetarians that other Grand West restaurants do not have.More

Very slow service can be forgiven, but the food was without exaggeration the worst ever experienced anywhere. The pita bread was very oily and soggy with uncooked onion. The fillet steaks looked like the were boiled - see picture. Very salty starters and vegetables extremely...salty. Calamari overcooked. It could not have been prepared by a trained chef it was so bad. The manager reluctantly refunded two dishes. The waitress was embarrassed by what she had to serve and apologized. The manager had an arrogant attitude. Please avoid. The cattle baron nearby is the only good restaurant at this location. An embarrassment for Capetonians.More

Hi having just been to this resturant I can honestly say that it was disgusting. We arrived at about 6pm to have a relaxed meal before the show in Grand West Arena. The waiters have the most terrible attitude, almost as if you have interrupted...their siesta! We ordered a bottle of wine and two beers and a simple set of starters to share amongst the four of us. The first problem requires the waiters to walk from the top downstairs to get everything, probably the reason for the lack of enthusiasm. The drinks arrived and then the starters arrived about a half an hour later. We tried in vain to attract the attention of the waiter to order our main dishes (must mention here after having cleared our own dirty starter plates) but due to poor management only two waiters were looking after about 30 patrons, not a problem in Europe, but not in South Africa it seems to be a huge problem if not managed correctly, so it took about another 20 mins to place our mains order. We waited patiently for about 40 mins and eventually our guest went down to the manager with my wife to complain about the service. She checked the situation and reported our food was on its way in 2 miniutes, not sure what type of watch she owns but after 10 minutes we again looked for her only to be told we should not have ordered anything else but pizzas and that was the problem! Have you ever been told such rubbish in a resturant, if they cannot cope then close it down and let another resturant open. Will I ever go back , not a chance avoid this one even if it is the last table in Grand West. We were not the only table to walk out without having eaten our mains, the table next door to ours also ended up at Steers!More

Every employee treats you asif you were there only customer. We have been waited on by Michael on almost 95% of our visits and his service gets better every time. Warmly welcomed... Good service... Nought better than the fresh kudu carpaccio starter... Mom was totally dissappointed with her pasta which she felt did not reflect the brief and made the staff aware. She did decline an alternative meal to the most apologetic waiter...

Popped into Bella Gina for dinner before the 80's Rewind show last night - 31st October 2012. No booking made, but the way we were addressed and taken care of was really good. Michael our waiter offered possibly the best level of service we have...ever experienced in Cape Town and was a credit to his profession. The food was super, lovely ambience and Michael simply enhanced the overall experience. Well done to Michael and the Bella Gina team - it added so much to our evening out.More
